I find ballpoints really easy to sketch lightly in then change pressure for darker lines. I've been doing sketches and shading with ballpoints since high school though.

it doesn't really matter, whatever feels comfortable. But you should get the underlying structure down first. before any details are added.

typically the "right" way to do it is to have the gesture, then the proportions/construct the shapes of the body, then add the details.

This was actually a lot harder to do, mostly because of the Toon style, and using a lot of references, at one point I screwed it up and had to find a way to fix it. But I like the final result.
And I am pretty much done today. Hope I can get motivation tomorrow like today. And get pencils and colors like normal artist
