I was thinking that since FK manipulated the memories of his people he also altered their writing langauge as well. Since Herring language and Wallist language is the same but kinda mirrored writing.
So we have Marley's writing language that's from Old World and Wallist writing language that's from New World. Then there's Castle Utgard that was there before the walls were created so everything there has Old World writing format.
Also the serums could have already been made before the walls were created as well since they have different titan type serums and they could have taught Marley language to the royal family only.
