Fun fact:
when Aizen talks about "Courage" being the special name people have for "marching forward in the face of Death" in the final chapter, he uses the specific word "勇気" which is written as "Courage/Brave/Hero"(勇) + "Spirit"(気). Personally I find the word play of calling it "Hero's Spirit" rather than just "Courage" notable, specifically because there are about a dozen different Japanese words that all more or less mean the same thing in practice, but with different etymology: 勇, 勇烈, 義勇, 勇力, 胆力, 胆気, 健気, 鋭気, 強心臓, 度胸, 剛胆, etc...

Kazui's name is written 一勇, as in "One Courage" or "One Hero." So when Aizen talks about "Courage" there's a wordplay at work where the scene segues from "Hero [Spirit]" to "[One] Hero." It also associates Kazui with death, which important to how he plays off Ichika.

It's also a play on how Ichigo and Isshin both have a name that starts with the Kanji for "One"(一): Ichigo "One Guard"(一護) and Isshin "One Heart"(一心)

If it wasn't obvious, Ichika's name is a play on Ichigo's, albeit not a very clever one. It's just written as "Strawberry Flower"(苺花); The kanji for 苺 being a homonym with 一護. So the first chapter's "Death & The Strawberry" is talking about Rukia being the shinigami and Ichigo the strawberry, respectively; but the final chapter, "Death & The Strawberry" is referring to Kazui the Courage to face death, and Ichika the strawberry in reverse of the original pair.

Pre-gears Luffy was quite creative with his without it being complete bullshit, especially vs Croc or Enel. Naruto also wasn't half bad with the clones. I don't know what degree of creativity you want.

Actually, from what I've seen Ichigo is quite special among battle shonen MC's for being absolutely dumb with his powers. They always have quite simple abilities, but at least up to some point in the story, they usually come up with creative ways to use them, and will use actual tactics in battle.

For Ichigo the only thing he actually came up with was not releasing GT in order to strengthen his attack. And when it comes to using tactics/analytical thinking, he actually thought during his battles four times: vs Renji (doing what Urahara told him to), Jackie (applying the trick from Renji's fight to himself), Gin (the best fight in this regard for him, he was actually observing his opponent and learning from it), and Juha (using his powers to activate his hollow).

It really doesn't compare to the rest of MCs. Like, at all.

More info on CFYOW. Based on the pictures, it seems that Aizen/Grimmjow/Harribel/Kuugo will be some of the characters featured in the novel. It seems that in his comment, Narita states that he got some info Kubo himself.

I really was disappointed that most of the crew beyond Hiyori and Shinji lost the fun hollow look and feel that made the whole mask thing interesting. Love's was the only one that really felt on point. Hacchi's came close with the neat Balinese demon queen thing it had going on, but having the colors on it in the anime ruined the whole bone mask aesthetic. Mashiro's was appropriate for her but I wish it'd had some kind of a mouth. Rose's phoenix mask was kind of neat clever play on his name but beyond that super awkward. Kensei and Risa's were straight up terrible though.

what for like the 3rd fucking time? There weren't even that fucking many of them. Aizen only made less than 100 of them and a good chunk of them were accounted for as nameless goons. And then Yhwach had Jail running around recruiting them, so if he didn't kill them for not joining, then the shinigami killed them when they raided SS as extra Soldat. There can't be that many left, let alone any good ones.
