I've been on /a/ for a long time. If anything there are more people now that have seen that many series. Old /a/ had a more consistent power level which was mediocre. New /a/ has a lot of new fags and but more people who have stuck around and watched too much shit

I prefer reading manga, because I can read them faster (and drop them faster too, at least temporarily, if I happen to not like them). I would watch an anime of something if it somehow happens to create a good expectation (interesting synopsis, interesting setting, interesting characters, things that would get me curious to see how they would look like in the anime) or if I happen to have too much free time (if I don't, I usually spend it reading other manga instead)

I'd say this is pretty true. The amount of newfags definitely outnumbers the 1000+ crowd but I think there are at least a couple browsing the board at any given time. I myself am close but not quite there yet.

Completely this. The last time we had a poll something like 6-8% of /a/ said they had watched that many. Figuring that half are lying and another half are blatantly padding that's still a noticeable amount. You can often tell what the shows most of the higher powerlevels watch just by the threads.

Exactly. Higher power levels equate to more knowledge so when you read a lot of posts you can really tell who knows what they're talking about and who doesn't. Of course there are some anons who just sperg out about a specific series so they know everything about just that one anime but there are still people on this board, perhaps at this very minute, who can talk about any number of series on a knowledgeable level. Its really great when they convene together and you get to watch those minds butt heads, so to speak.

Those are my favorite anons to have conversations with.

It's not really necessary, but I find it helps keep perspective on the shows I've watched. Sometimes I'll simply scroll through my list and see what thoughts come to mind, whether that be an urge to rewatch something for a new perspective, or just recalling "yeah that was a good/shit show"
