Because he's a complex character. I assume it had something to do with wanting to take away from Guts that which was dearest to him, because Guts in turn was dear to Griffith yet was also seen as his property. He also made Griffith forget about his dream for a moment and that pissed Griffith off.

Here he has to engage in some sort of evil act the apostles and god hand can be satisfied in watching so that they don't immediately kill Guts and Casca. He's buying time until they can escape. If he wanted to kill Guts he could've done it any time, but he's still his friend. He tried to stop the eclipse like 5 times right before it happened. Fempto will build a peaceful world where his friends can be happy then betray the god hand.

I don't think so. That was pure Femto aka vengeful Griffith looking to have his vengeance on Guts by hurting what he cares about the most as he realized he's not his property anymore. Griffith reborn, on the other hand, was quick to protect Casca when Guts vs Zodd duel was going on and she was in danger and then moved away from her in almost in disgust. I think it's implied that Guts and Casca's demon child is part of Griffith reborn as that Egg of the Perfect World asked the child to join him when Griffith was about to be reborn.

Then he wakes up and sees Casca kissing Guts.

Guts left him, making Griffith behave erratically, ruining Griffith's dream, then he comes back to rescue him, and at the same time 'steals' Casca's love from him.

He raped Casca as a way of punishing them both for 'betraying' him and his dreams.
