We're due for some kind of announcement or hint regarding the future of this series no matter how many more volumes he wishes to write. They've already retitled this series once and it's getting close to the point where they split the title. I don't think so. In my experience VNs are even more verbose than LNs. The Index LNs work very well in the monster of the week format because they're as short as they are - you can read several in a day if you feel like it. In contrast VNs are actual investments most of the time, so it would have required Kamachi to only do longer arcs like the Othinus three-parter, and that's not really where he shines.
Kamachi is at his best when he builds up a setting over the course of several shorter volumes focusing on several different settings which eventually build up to a several-part climax. The VN format lends itself to what is essentially one arc, which wouldn't have turned out as well.
And the waifuwars would be twice as bad if there was a route system in the Indexverse.

As for episodes they will definately not go for 12-13 cause they will anger the crowd even more and they will make a huge risk for their sales, so it will either be 24-26 which will cover up to the end of Brexit and a 13 ep season at a later date confirmed which will cover ww3, or it will maybe be what a lot of anons want it to be and make it 36-39 episodes which will cover all of OT.
