and you're completely right, but over my years of searching around the isekai genre i've found a couple of good ones that i could enjoy nicely.
60% of isekai are shit, 20% manage to do a decent work, 15% are kinda good and 5% are pretty good.
my favorite is sekai game where the guy is just in a world full of bugs and shitty game design.

Really hated here but I think its literally one of the best kind in the heap of copy/pasted plotlines. Probably had the most fun with it as far as narou is concerned.

No RPG mechanics, heroines that develop, doesn't go oretueeeee its either family or power but he chooses family. Decent worldbuilding where the bigger picture slowly comes to light. Author bothered with a prequel that expands the world and slowly reveals how it all began. Even touched on some of the weird shit like labyrinths from the main story which turned out to be Laplace's Miko developing facilities untill he lost his mind thanks to hitogami.

If you don't mind the amateur writing(which turns out is still better than 90% of the entries on syousetu) I'd recommend the WN to anyone as a decent timewaster. Depends if you can swallow the manchild mentally growing up as a decent human being through various experiences type of plot.
