It was way too long but its first episode, even the first arc, was top tier. Cut it to ten episodes and you've got gold.

/a/ as a whole should've had amp'ed their crossboarder removing tactics, maybe get in a janyman or 2 to comply with the established culture.

I liked the first few episodes but the overall tonal shifts made me feel like I was watching a Bollywood film. Which I hate.

Great example of an anime that starts good and gets progressively worse.

I agree. I loved the series but it hasn't aged well at all despite still having a good first arc. The fact that they changed story arcs midway through production and only barely finished the final episode in time doesn't help either. Also Ragyo was a terrible villain. I honestly would've preferred her to be a sob story tragic villain over the mess we got. Ryuko a shit too

I remember I disliked it past 10th episode or so. Really had to force myself to finish after that.
