She was the biggest problem in the adaptation. The show is about dagashi and its trivia, history etc. Hotaru and Coconuts' discussions are also a big part of the manga. The director seems just ignored that and tried his best to put Saya in every episode. I mean I don't hate the girl but fuck she just kept appearing in the anime even in parts when she's not supposed to be there.
