I'm dumping and nice thing I read last night. It starts off a little slow but ends up nice.
Nice to see there wasn't any generic tsun shit involved in at a time like this.
>>156007685
Oh I read this already, it's good, too bad it didn't end up in a new series.
>>156007685
>transfer student
>sickly tomboyish osananajimi
>childhood's promise
>sudden meeting after remembering her
so many cliches for a oneshot, artwise it's cute though
I hope the author get a serialization with a better story
>>156008066
Cliches are cliches because they are good and people like them and they have stood the test of time.
I like this.
>>156008014
I like oneshots and short manga, but this is one that I think would be nice to see as a regular serialization. Still, it's pretty recent so there is still a chance it could be turned into a series.
>>156008066
Yeah, but it's in Jump so that's kinda to be expected. It's one of those that you have to be able to enjoy for what it is. If the girl had slapped him when she landed I probably would have lost interest too since that's just too much towards the wrong end of generic. At least this avoids that sort of thing. And honestly I can't think of too many other manga where it's just too kids exploring nature with hints of romance; it's not supernatrual harem levels generic.
>>156008227
I was jealous at first but man this chick is weird.
Ok, this is too normal.
Our MC has a terminal disease right? He will die right? I know those smiles, those are the ones who usually bait you will massive feels.
>>156008263
>not liking cute weirdos
>>156008347
>>156008369
Is she okay in the head?
>>156008423
A true man would have stayed under her
>>156007787
>When she was 4
>Remembering who you were friends with when you were 4
>This guy
Man I fucking miss the days befor captcha.
>>156008588
I think that age might have been an translation error or something, or at least there seems to be inconsistency. They look older than 4 in the flashbacks and she says "it's been what, 5 years?" when they meet again. She's obviously not 9 years old in the events of the exploring story. I would guess by the uniforms they're probably 1st year of highschool, I doubt middle school. So if it's been 5 years since they last saw each other they were probably around 10, which is more believable.
>>156008545
HAYAI
>>156008588
Original Japanese said 4th grade.
I hope this doesn't get serialized, they'd fuck it up by making it a harem and her a generic tsundere.
>>156008728
Are you using legacy captcha?
>>156008391
Doesn't look like it.
>>156008865
Not sure what that is. I'm just using 4chanx and loading up two images to dump and waiting for the auto post to send them through.
>>156008588
Do they look like 9y olds to you buddy?
>>156008770
Every fucking time.
>oneshot with nice premise and likable characters
>serialization adds dozen of unnecessary girls and ruins character dynamics to milk the series until everyone gets sick of it
Manga series would be hundred times better if they had seasons, for example 30 or 50 chapters long. You have to fit your story in that threshold and if it is good, you can write continuation in second season.
>>156008781
This page is straight out of hentai.
the one shot is pretty fucking nice, would love to see it serialized. But as the anons already said, it would probably turn in a generic harem
>>156008974
That would only constrict actually good writers though. Not every manga is Nisekoi.
>>156008974
publishers ruin a lot of things
I'd say mangaka should try to go indie, but Akamatsu tried and look what happened to him
I honestly feel this is one occasion where foreign intervention might actually be good
We need someone like netflix bankrolling a rival to Shounen Jump Weekly
>>156009070
Nah, lets keep manga as simple, independent and unsubjected to market influences and monetary concerns as possible, I know it's not but it's better than the position anime is in. Part of why manga is great is because it's cheap and easy enough to produce and publish (or just self distribute) that it doesn't stifle creativity by excluding new talent or ideas on the grounds big business shit.
And that's it. Have a nice days, anon.
>>156008290
>Ok, this is too normal.
For me that was the one of the main things that made this story charming.
Would this have been as enjoyable if she wasn't a big breasted blonde in a skintight latex outfit that had gaps in very convenient places? I wonder...Seriously it was pretty distracting.
>>156009209
Yeah, it would have been fine. The best thing about her was that she was enthusiastic, friendly and she held the MC in some regard.
Being a hot childhood friend and a weirdo wasn't bad, though.
>>156009255
>The best thing about her was that she was enthusiastic, friendly and she held the MC in some regard
The fact that the MC didn't act like a faggot also helped this tremendously.
>>156008953
Who knows. I just find it strange that they'd be 4. Plus, people here said the translation is wrong.
>>156009281
Very true.
>>156009282
I was refering to her saying that it's been 5 years since they last met. 4+5 would be 9. They don't look 9 by any means. Even if you weren't told by anons that this was a mistranslation you should have noticed that something was wrong.
This reminds me of my childhood so much I might go trespassing on people's property again and risk getting shot. Worth it.
>>156009354
She looks like a standard 9-year-old in the manga I read.
>>156009370
Nah 9y is basically a loli, these are clearly teens.
>>156009011
Would it really? Media usually have some kind of size limit, like movies, books, games. While your story can be told in several books, it's expected for each volume to reach some sort of conclusion. However this doesn't stop people from creating masterpieces.
Honestly, vast majority of manga turn to shit somewhere between chapters 20-50, because that's usually how long the original premise can dragged without getting stale. And creating new content as you go, without pre-planning it requires some actual skills your average otaku that decided to draw cute girls simply doesn't have.
>>156009209
>Getting distracted by tame fanservice
Go watch DxD or something and come back when the sight of anime tits and ass won't distract you anymore.
>>156009354
I thought she was remembering the years wrong at first. Like time went by so fast for her that she thought ti was just 5 or she was so excited tn felt like 5 to her or something I don't know man.
Once I start assuming there's a mistake in a translation somewhere it makes me question the whole thing so I prefer to give the translators the benefit of the doubt usually.
>>156009420
>mistake in a translation somewhere it makes me question the whole
That makes sense. I usually don't get hung up on details so I didn't even think much about it until you mentioned 4y old thing.
>>156009419
I don't think I'll ever not be distracted by a nice body. I don't get the people who say they can't get excited by a nice body alone after going down the path of ryona or guro or stuff like that, sounds sad leaving the joy of a simple cute girl behind.
Thanks for the dump, OP.
She should've been the short haired, tanned, genki, tomboy childhood friend if you're gonna make her athletic in the end.
>>156008770
Now when the whole thing was dumped, I think that main girl would stay as she is, since she's oblivious and explorationsexual enough to maintain the status quo as long as it's necessary. However MC would be guaranteed to be sir McBeta from Faggotville, and let's be honest, I don't think anyone here believes it wouldn't turn into a harem.
The worst thing that could happen is making MC have a crush on some bland yamato nadeshiko to keep him away from the genki girl. God, I loathe this fucking cliche.
>>156009524
Getting excited over it and getting distracted are two entirely different things, anon.
>>156009524
I was slightly distracted by her visible pantyline in that one panel. I like stuff like that and it's a whole lot lewder than just drawing some big tits.
>all of this short shorts service
Thank you OP.
>>156009818
If this wasn't in SJ it could be a cute 10is chapter long manga with just these two going around and exploring nature and the landscape near where they live, slowly falling for each other through their shared experiences and rekindled friendship. The places they explore would fill the role usually filled by other characters and we'd only see brief glimpses of other people like when they're leaving their home to go meet eachother etc.
I would hope it stuck to something like that and kept what made the oneshot nice if it ever did get serialized, it would be a waste if they turned it into a 100+ chapter shounen harem romance gag manga.
>>156010076
Well constantly thinking "I want to fuck her" while reading is a bit distracting don't you think?
>>156009164
This was a great one shot OP, very cute. Thanks for sharing.
>>156009209
Not at all.
One shots are the best.
I read this a while back because My Hero Academia mangaka shilled it on his twitter
it was very nice and comfy and I wouldn't mind a serialization of this
however I want it on Jump Plus not the main magazine because
1- no axe in 12 chapters
2-author can go crazy with color pages
>>156010346
That would be amazing.
We could use some comfy short love stories without unnecessary bullshit. The problem with romances is that romance alone, especially if limited to pre-dating phase, doesn't really have much to offer before getting repetitive. And since people would rather milk their series as long they can, story gets bloated with drama, gag or harem crap, replacing developments with cliches.
The other problem is that nips stick to one genre like a glue. And since the various aspects of romantic relationship are in separate genres, it's super rare to see couples moving to another stage of relationship. We haven't seen even a glimpse of real dating in Nisekoi. TLR stuck to accidental ecchi till the very end, no relationships or consensual lewds. Series with sex usually have characters already fucking in first few chapters, killing the fun of getting there. You just don't see couples getting gradually more intimate.
This of course means that romance is stuck in endless status quo, which severely limits amount of content it can produce without resorting to bloat unrelated to main relationship. Look at Horimiya - once praised for actually developing romance, now it's complete garbage, since main couple is just a background for gags involving dozen of other characters.
>>156007886
>Last I saw here she was 4
>Its been 4 years
>THis is a Japanese 9 year old
>>156008263
That's what happens when you're stuck at home for so long, I guess.
>>156008477
But then he wouldn't have gotten tohold her hand.
>>156008930
Settings in upper right. First section, at the bottom.
Legacy captcha uses words instead of pictures.
>>156009164
Cute. Thanks, OP.
>>156011192
Yeah, unfortunately there are far too many manga that suffer the flaws you've outlined there. I think josei stuff is probably the least likely to fall into those traps, from what I've read. But there's still far too many that do.
>>156011670
That's a lot better.
>>156008004
Oh fuck yes. I was so bracing for the forced drama of "ooooh thats too CHILDISH for GROWN UP me" or some bullshit. Love it.
>>156012014
I know, right? I love it when the MC isn't a faggot.
>>156012076
But then he won't fuck you.
oneshot always leave me wanting a little more
>>156016377
Well that is the idea
>>156016377
Better than there being too much and it being ruined.
