1.5k is on the lower end, but you can get something decent starting at the 3k range. a high quality figure commission can be done in 1-2 months.

commercial figures take like a year to produce because theres all the mold making, producing thousands of parts, having your chinese sweatshops painting them, then shipping them back to japan with the cheapest and lowest priority option. the sculpting of the master copy does not take long at all.

whether if good sculptors would rather work for a big company or not is a separate matter, and i seriously doubt its a good paying job anyway.

I have no experience with Urban mine but I've used Mandarake auction before. Generally if's around 8+ watchers then you can get there to be a bidding war in the last 10 minutes of the auction

Also the way Japanese auctions works is that if anyone bids in the last 5 minutes then the auction is extended by 5 minutes, that way you can't just snipe and it's literally whoever's willing to pay the most for it
