Frontier was really different but alright, some people actually didn't prefer it mostly because of how different it was as in the kids didn't have partners. Z'dGarurumon is clearly less mobile than MetalGarurumon, and given its armaments, it's most likely meant to stand it place and shoot. Kinda like the Liger Zero Panzer from Zoids New Century Zero.

Meanwhile, WarGreymon's plates act as both a shield and flight stabilizers, so VictoryGreymon is probably not as agile in the air. Given its long tail which is presumably meant to act as a counterbalance for its large sword, it's probably slower but more powerful. Of course, the lack of a shield also means that its defensive capabilities are also inferior.

Probably, Z'dGarurumon acts as long-range support from behind while VictoryGreymon takes advantage and swipes at shit with its sword. They're meant to be a pair and are less effective when not together.
