There is a difference between actual bad fanfic and fanfic you don't like, you know. People forget that Piggy was Hitler not in the fun way in actual canon and part of his character progression is to not let it strain his relationships not only to Victor, but to loved ones and fans, too. And he only realizes that when Victor told him or called him out on this (even though the last few episodes show that Piggy is still struggling with it as he plans to split feel. Victor and retire without discussing it with Victor at all is a Hitler move). So in an AU where they are bitter rivals means Victor never gets Piggy to realize his self-centered ways and how it can hurt others. It's not like Piggy did the things out of complete malice. The whole point was that Piggy was confused with his feelings and assumed things what they were and didn't really want to change them.

Plus if you are going to terms like BL cliches, actually point them out. The only
reason you would say that is because it was a bottom Piggy fic. The fic had a whole scene that Victor felt like he was pressuring Piggy to always bottom and he was more than willing to switch.
