I hearing this. I'm not the biggest fan of the show, but I found it refreshing as it revolved around a subject that wasn't commonly found in manga or anime (candy and its history) instead of just another harem shit plot.

I found them to be fresh and different than generic harem shit scenarios. I can provide examples if needed but the continual "fortune candy" and the build up to it was fun to experience and was (importantly) different than to what other stories were offering in terms of plot devices.
