The Obito/Kakashi fight isn't that great.

The animation and coregraphy is smooth and is really well done, but there's no actual sense of progression or beats in the fight.

After a while all of the attacks just flow into each other because they aren't accomplishing anything and it just keeps going without any breaks.

It's almost impossible for any battle featuring cute girls to be anywhere as awesome as a fight between two hardened male warriors. The closest I've seen to two females fighting that was comparable to the awesomeness of males fighting was Ryuuko and Satsuki from Kill La Kill, and even then the waifuing was overthetop.

The problem is the vast majority of male animators or writers have that waifu mindset towards the girls they're animating or writing combat scenes for, or it's females who can't truly capture that awesomeness if they're doing scenes for girls that another man or even women can do for scenes with men. By nature it's extremely difficult to do fight scenes with females that are anywhere as awesome as fights between males because females just aren't as hardcore as men are.

There are rare exceptions to this rule however like pic related, and a major part of the reason is no doubt because she's /fit/. I think once the female is made /fit/ the animators/writers have made it clear in their minds to put any of that waifushit that's a huge limiter on the back burner and focus solely on creating an outstanding, respectable warrior. Too often if the girl isn't /fit/ that waifu damsel mindset inevitably comes into play, and greatly limits the potential amazingness of fight scenes.

It's all about having that correct GAR mindset, if you will.
