ishida stopped focusing on telling the story through the characters and characterization, each character had simple paths on which they developed and changed. the emotions and situations of the characters were relatable and well portrayed. now instead the writing has shifted to something more shounen esque and giving a more generic storyline.

alot of story choices in RE dont make sense to me or kind of sucked. pretty much every character who died so far if you think about it there was no purpose or significance to their death. you could even make the case that the story would be more interesting with some of them alive. even arima who had a huge mystique built about him from part 1. he honestly went out like a bitch.
