After seeing the OP and reading the word "suffering" I immediately looked it up to see if it was an adaptation of a Hitoshi Tomizawa work.

Did a quick bit of research, and the main staff weren't involved with the Alien 9 anime. Maybe it's possible that Tetsuya Imai, the creator of Alice to Zouroku, was an assistant to Tomizawa at some point... but that's a long shot and would require an ability to read Japanese to properly research. Otherwise, this looks like a case of imitation rip-off.

Is it worth watching?
