I can't imagine trying to fire a revolver with your pinky. It might work on some pistols, but it just seems like it would be more painful than anything else.
It's difficult to stress the pinky without also stressing the ring finger, which, I would imagine, would make it difficult to aim since you'd have to account for how moving your ring finger would affect the direction of the barrel.
You also can't make use of the sights, and you'd have to get an opposite-handed gun to make sure that the shells didn't get ejected towards you.

Can confirm, I served in Afghanistan and everybody fired their rifles and pistols like that.

The carry handle on AR did better job than the grips supplied to us. We did do aimed shots the traditional way but sometimes we exchanged shots in close combat. You see, having your rifle upside down made the reloading faster in the hectic CQC and it was easier to clear dugouts/small tunnels that way.

The image you posted is a gross simplification of the interaction and conflicting angles of sight picture, bullet flight, and bore sight. Simply put, the sight picture is offset by a very small degree to compensate for the bullet's drop in flight. So while the bullet lands where you have your sights lined up, the bore sight (what you would see if you looked down the barrel at the target) would be above the what you aim at.

Looks like those rifles they use for Olympic Biathlon, they're pretty heavy, and pretty small caliber (.22 Long Rifle, the most common pistol/rifle cartridge used for target shooting and small game in the world), so there's basically no recoil to speak of, they're entirely intended to put a small hole in a target at particular distances and they don't really need any kind of significant power.

The projectile itself is like 5.6mm bullet weighing 2 or 3 grams (depending on the kind of ammo), with energy from around 100 to 250 or so joule, it's not harmless (a fair few people actually get themselves seriously injured or killed because they underestimate the cartridge and think being shot with one isn't serious), but considering that the gun here is typically like 8 pounds and you have the force distributed on large and wide surfaces, there's pretty much no force coming back, even holding it with one hand.
