i dont think she would like him if he were the type to just accept the chocolate.

hes the type of person who approaches everything seriously. like he puts up an energetic front and pretends to let things go, but any failure or inadequacy on his part eats him up. so he treats people as kindly as he can, for both his and their sakes.

i mean, its pretty obvious he and mayaka get together by the end of the show.

and he would ride or die for oreki, the person who makes him feel most keenly his own shortcomings. he never lets that envy of deductive skill poison the friendship.

its not crazy for mayaka, a loner who feels inadequate in creating manga, to like someone like satoshi, a loner who tries his best to support people and not lash out at them out of feelings of inadequacy like he did in middle school.
