Imagine if these people had seen 5 cm per second all those years ago, Kimi no Nawa would've won like 5 oscars by now.

But that rating is skewed since only people who are anime fans would have even heard of it/bothered to go and see it since it had shit advertising and barely shown in any cinemas.

Put it in more cinemas and advertise it to non-anime fans and that rating would drop massively.
