Key points to consider in the Tai-Sora-Yamato issue

-Tai and Sora: The dub "adding things" is irrelevant. The key part of this is the fact they had continuous interaction with each other, which is used as the foundation for shippery.

Yamato and Sora: These two barely SPOKE to each other, ever, in either sub or dub. The most you can argue is "they're drawn together because they're both miserable people, hence the cave of darkness". This is not a healthy basis for a relationship, and the "they help each other" aspect flounders due to the fact it was Joe who shook Sora out of her dark cave funk, Yamato was just there for the ride. It's not a good couple because it's built on no foundation whatsoever. In a TV show, "tell don't show" should be the practice that governs writing characters getting together, which Yamato and Sora completely fails.
