One of the better shows to portray medieval warfare and weapons and armor.
Also Bernard best boy.

It doesn't have to be Historical, it could simply have an historical inspiration or be with gear from a certain period and not too moe like groundless.
Manga's where you want to look for history.
Cesare (titled after the main character, Cesare Borgia) is basically The Prince in manga form

Hyouge Mono is fucking fantastic and FuruOri one of the best main characters ever. I'm happy that there's finally someone working on the manga.
I also enjoyed Ikoku Meiro no Croissee, aka Loli in Cheeseland.

One more.
Historie is also quite good, and covers another area you don't often see, that being classical Greece. Historie's more of an adventure, a bit like reading the Odyssey, whereas Cesare seriously feels like you're reading a Renaissance Italian treatise (take that for what you will, I myself like it),
Vinland Saga's good, though much more of a traditional manga. It's got some nice Christian values that juxtapose with the (Christianizing) Norse setting in a really interesting way. It's a lot more fantastic, however. I mean, these vikings are very accurate in demeanor, costume and otherwise, but they are clearly superhuman in the combat scenes

It was a pretty good show, though.

Sharpe lookin pretty moe there. Can we get Sean Bean for the dub?
Golden Kamui is like Old Country for Old Men meets Pocahontas. Good shit.
I'm also currently making my way through Shut Hell, which takes place in Mongolia during Ghengis' conquests.
