Here's the back story-

Everything started in Baidu Digimon Bar (Chinese Google Group), in a TaichixHikari and Tri 5th movie thread.

Someone was doing a detail archeological recording what how the Hikari character came into existence. In it the author suggested that Hosoda, as Digimon pilot's director, wrote Hosoda as very dependent on Taichi to the point of abnormality. It was only till the TV series started that her traits were gradually lessened.

Then he mentioned that there was a blog post of on Digimon on S2 in 2007. The author of the blog post complained about S2, and how its ending does not mesh well with an old interview he read with Hosoda. The author did not mentioned where he read the interview, however.

So, at this point, the author knows something of an interview with Hosoda that talks about Taichi x Hikari exists. He just has to find/Google the exact book.

The author then moves onto S2 and explained why S2 seems so disjointed and its ending so confusing. He suggested that Hosoda's original setting was corrupted in the scramble to make S2.

The readers of the thread did some investigation; someone dug up an old thread on 2ch from 2015. In which a poster suggested that a similar interview is in the Digimon Movie Guide Book (post 65 on Bidu, post 17 on 2ch)-
