Nah, it's really boring up until they start getting to the meat of everything when they introduce the mom, her back story and that hidden village. Before that, it's just a buncha hijinks, evil villains of the day and lewds.

Manga does a pretty good job at world building through out, it isn't cut & paste and their wacky adventures when not fighting the obligatory villain of the week are fun and interesting. Sometimes, between chapter 20-40, I just wanted them to kill the big bad so they could go back to world building and lewd hijinks.

That's where the story really shines and separates itself from other mundane shonen. Of course, I'm speaking of in the past tense, before we got to the mom and her circumstances. Author just
