There are a lot of dying country towns in Japan whose economies are going down the drain due to brain drain.

Hence they are opting for new sources of revenue like tourism. Sadly, as more and more kids move to places where the jobs are (Tokyo) more towns will increasingly opt for fuzzy mascot, local idols, anime and turning random shit in the town into cute little girls in the hopes of attracting someone, anyone, even some weird otaku to the town in the hopes of attracting visitors. I can certainly see someone being desperate enough or stupid enough to try this.

Sure there are some successes to this model (see the interest boost to the Lucky Star Shrine and what LLSS did for Uchiura) but I don't know if we can say this has proven a success story for every town that tries this. Or if this is a long term solution for the dying Japanese countryside.

It's called Sakura because it starts in spring which is the season of beginnings. It's when a new school semester starts in Japan, and it's also when people graduate and find their jobs.

Quest is there because of the medieval theme that the town is going for. Dragon Quest is so popular that even old shits associate any fantasy/medieval shit with it.

and failed them all. Not really sure the exact number but it sure feels like 30.

I liked this a lot, my only complaint is that the reveal that she had been there before was cute and surprising (to me anyway) but it hardly seemed to affect her at all, despite it being a cherished enough memory to apparently bring up in job interviews. Kinda difficult to follow up last season. Last season was GOAT material and this might also be the reason why this season feels so meh. We should give this season a fair try to wait until each anime has 2-3 episodes out, before jumping to conclusion.
I have high hopes for Bahamut to be realy great, Sakura Quest was fun and I still hope that LWA turns from fine/good to great.
