On the sidenote, Nanachi can see these force field and ascend through where the force fields are the weakest.Curse of abyss- lvl5: loss of senses, your muscle will keep contract and break yourself, like crushing your own teeth. lvl6: loss of humanity, immortal rug or furry or turn you into anything unhuman. I'd say it's a bit different from how Madoka plays things out.
Madoka's pull is on it's twist, which knocks the amount of tension and plot weight upside down. This, on the other hand, plays it exactly as it tells you right at the beginning. The Abyss itself is explained quite a lot pretty early, so when shit actually happens, the readers will know that the manga won't pull punches so that Riko and friends could just have a cute adventurous SoL featuring bunny cunny and best dads.
