I don't know about not taking it seriously, Japanese centralization is a difficult thing to get around. They do vote but due to the fact that prefectures largely depend on support from the centralized government, you can quite easily move the voting in one direction. Basically "the liberal" party of Japan is unpopular but doesn't get voted out because they sit on the required money.
>>
>>155555345

Yeah let's have a repeat of last time, build plants in a country hit by an earthquake every month.

They were doing maintenance when a fire started in the engine room which quickly engulfed the inside, their Rope and other safety gear are inside with the fire and their only choice was to climb out of the engine room on top of the windmill, where they would wait to burn to death, but instead they both choose suicide.

Windmills tend to fail catastrophically.

>>
>>155555714
Japan is already considered a pseudo-nuclear power, meaning that within months they could possess and use nuclear weapons without another country supplying them. But lately the Norks and their sometimes-not-failing attempts to launch nuclear ICBMs have been making Japan nervous. I wouldn't put it past Kimmy to go full Napoleon and declare war on worst Korea and District 11 at once and start with a nuclear barrage. Eva Tie-chan is saying it in a horrible way but I believe it's a good move for the country to quickly build & augment both its power grid and nuclear defenses.

I know those cray cray norks are beyond reasons, but the chinks should be well advised not to step on "Griffon's tail" or the nips will start some serious shit

That makes allusion to nuclear artillery that was somewhat common during the early stages of the Cold War, and even then they could only custody that kind of weaponry but not use it unless they had explicit authorization of the Allied forces in case of a crisis.

How about having trained staff and proper maintenance.

See, there's the kicker. Fukushima was already scheduled to be decommissioned completely. Neither of those things really matters though, because it was the failure of their tsunami defenses that caused this. Tsunami defenses in Japan were designed around the theoretically strongest earthquake that could hit them. A geologist came up some 5 years ago and said "I think a stronger earthquake could hit us than what we predicted" and he got ignored, probably because it would have taken a shit ton of money to completely rebuild coastal defenses.

However, what you've said IS pertinent to America. Because we have so many "NO NUCLEAR PLANTS!" green hippie faggots, we can't replace OLD nuclear plants with newer, safer ones. So now the NRC says we can run nuclear plants indefinitely as long as they pass inspection every year. How long do you think it will take for something to go wrong, hmm? Nuclear plants are normally scheduled to be decommissioned after a few decades, and now we want to run them INDEFINITELY?

Cheap electricity is what's going to save the world and nuclear is the only viable source until they seriously step the fucking game up with solar and hydrogen. And hippies are fucking ruining it for everyone.
>>
>>155571791
>And hippies are fucking ruining it for everyone.
Not only that, but they prefer to run COAL plants over nuclear ones thinking it's somehow better for the environment.
If you're going to pollute, you might as well be effective and go nuclear.

the seniors saved themself in time, but the newbies, the one you see in the pic, didn't get in time at the back of the windmill, where the safe rope was

the fire started from inside, not from where their emergency route was, but the fire spread

On the subject of politics and anime/manga, here's former president of Taiwan cosplaying as Edajima Heihachi. Pretty based.

Former Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso reads Rozen Maiden but I think everyone on here knows that already.
