I'm pretty surprised how much I enjoy the series so far. I noticed today before reading, that I've been looking forward see how their wacky survival science adventures turn out. Other than the wonky way the artist draws girl faces, I've been having a blast.

MC's crew is going to get around to it, eventually. They're in no rush. For now they're working on rediscovering the most influential materials mankind has ever made so they can make better tools and shit. The miracle water is a side-project now that the main trio is together. (It's likely be treated as a device for the writer to introduce new characters and narratives when old ones wrap up or stagnate.)

Lawfags would make reviving people their top priority I think. And they wouldn't discriminate between the lives they save like our handsome antagonist does.
