Depends on whether they stream anime at 1080p or higher. DRM on 720p is possible to rip, 1080p rips I haven't seen (DRM likely involves hardware), 4K is impossible because the video goes through hardware entirely, you can't just grab it because it's never there unencrypted in the memory accessible by the OS. It's a bit early to tell if there's going to be a way to defeat this DRM but even if someone finds a hole, it's either going to involve gutting your device or it's going to be easy to patch by the vendors in the future.

This hardware DRM is likely to become a standard in a few years so if nobody finds a solution for it you can kiss untouched rips goodbye while major streaming services only allow the Approved™ devices. I don't think it's even going to be possible to record HDMI because of watermarks on the output.

This is the future the consumers chose.

This is the only reason my household has Prime. I'm not going to pay $4.99 extra for anime though because it's not a value for me like Prime is. If they were to simulcast and bundle it into my Prime I might watch shows that, if the DRM is as effective as made out to be, I can't watch anywhere else. The extra subscription is a shit idea and I hope they figure that out quickly.

I barely use that but that's one of the things that's frustrating. Why ask people to pay more? Is translating anime really that expensive for one of the largest companies in the world? I suspect Sentai is doing the translation because the official twitter for Strike retweeted them. The means it's going to be shit. Another thing I picked up off their twitter is that this isn't a world wide stream. I saw a few South Americans in a rage that Amazon is forcing them to download illegally even when they want to pay extra to stream. Sounds like a fiasco but there's not enough anime fans for this to get big news coverage. Maybe ANN will write a 50 word article about it if a hash tag takes off.

Quality seems to be questionable as well. Their current simulcasts seem to be largely just purchases from Sentai Filmworks, who have shit subtitles and an even worse track record at choosing streaming partners (Hulu, Anime Lab, etc.)
