Nah, I just felt like their relationship was one of the few things I liked about the anime.
The show really forced drama and edginess all the way through, got fairly cringey a few times, but I thought their relationship was pretty cute.
Then you just get like 4 last episodes without them even interacting.
If the story was better written, I'd enjoy the more realistic ending.
But at least the Slut-san changing was some nice character development. I did end up enjoying her story arc.

Mugi & Hanabi's relationship was empty and pathetic, based on their foolhardy infatuation with people they couldn't obtain. Any romance between the two would have to have formed in those times they spent together, but it didn't--at least not mutually. To have it tacked on at the end would have been a sad display of desperation, not romance.
