I mean, I guess I'm interested in discussing what Satella's original goals and ideals may have been. Each Witch has their own central ideal they're obsessed with. I'm pretty curious as to how she started out, and if anyone was helping her. I'd also like to know what the fuck was up with Hector, but that's another matter entirely.

When it comes down to it, the only way I know to analyze Satella's ideals is to look at her power, since the Sins seem to reflect aspects of their host. So, what does Satella do? She consumes and assimilates everything, until there's no clear division between anything, and all is drowned in her love.

I suppose Satella might've ended up trying the whole instrumentality kind of thing.

I'll tell you from someone who has been in those threads a very long time. Mostly discussions about the series, theorymaking and intelligent discussion when there is content and even where there is not, but when there isn't any discussion going on and the shitposts aren't drowned by actual discussion the state of threads and people falling for shitposting becomes more apparent. Take Remfags for example, they are the regular posters who will discuss anything and everything positively as long as it isn't obvious bait or you aren't like spfag and ESL which they will reply to since they are kneejerkers, this goes the same for Emilifags as long as they don't rile up shit which they are infamous for.

Right now the state of these threads are basically flooded with shitposters from god knows where. From people hating on the series for no good reason throwing words like "harem" and "cuck" around. OC has grinded to a halt and people who were typesetting comics has stopped because of the shitposting.

Subaru is one of the weakest points, at first he is a bit obnoxious, then he went to that extreme change of personalities that is bad written, and then we end up with your average hero MC.

The animation in early episodes was p good, then it was lacking and over the top (like any other anime I guess).

The OST is really nice, aswell as the backgrounds.

In regards of Emilia and Rem. Rem is a nice character but I understand the MC geting with Emilia, and I think Rem knew that too.

tl;dr it's interesting, but it isn't grate. It suffers for a bad written MC

I honestly don't think Re:Zero adapts too well as an anime. The source material plays a pretty long game with the plot, introducing elements you won't even begin to understand until several Arcs later.

In the WN, Subaru is pretty far from an average hero MC. He does more or less have the same ideals as your typical hero MC, as he's literally a chuuni anime fan, but the execution ends up a bit different. Subaru's main talents are in scheming and using people, and he gets a bit edgy at times. When he actually does get a little stronger, it's because he's inherited cursed power from Betelgeuse that shaves away his soul.

The bigger mystery is interesting in my opinion. The problem is, the anime made an effort to remove all foreshadowing and information that might have helped in said mystery.

Take a look at pic related for example. It was supposed to happen when Priscilla gives him a ride in the carriage to the castle. And they also skipped a few other important bits.

I guess it's quite common to do that when they adapt mangas into anime due to budget reasons and, as you say, to contain the story within a season. Sadly, that tends to remove a lof of depth.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the manga is behind the anime currently, but it does add some of the missing stuff. The story is based off a light novel.

It did remove a lot of the stuff that would have hinted at something bigger, and also removed the ending of the arc, leaving it as a "happy ending", of sorts.

Things the anime removed were:
>The proper candidate speeches that would have added more depth to the characters, and not just a single line like in the anime
>The fact that Al is from earth and Al apparently has a thing against Rem being alive for some reason
>Satella's connection to Subaru, and the fact she was whispering "i love you" into his ear, and many times when he dies she tries to reach out to him
>Rem's more playful and bashful side towards Subaru and calls out of on his bullshit, along with a lot of characters personal traits in personalty
>Subaru's confession to Rem after the whale battle, where she pretends to be dying in order to get Subaru to confess

And the ending in question would involve these two. Regulus of greed, and Ley of Gluttony, who ambush Rem and Crusch's group on the way to the capital and attack them, leaving Rem comatose after having her name and memories eaten, and pretty much forgotten by everyone except Subaru, and Crusch loses her memories.

The reset point moves after this fact, and Subaru can do nothing to change it. The first thing he does is kill himself upon seeing Rem in that state but to no avail.

Well, that's kind of the rooted in the nature of his power. Subaru can only be beaten if he's mentally beaten. His victories might be pyrrhic at times, but he can't really be stopped. Which is why all of the Bad End IF stories are about his mental degeneration in one way or another, and every special ability he gets shaves away at his mind and soul for fuel.

If Subaru fucks up too badly, he's going to go crazy one of these days. His life is never what's at stake. Merely his humanity and friends.

Well, the manga also cuts some things from the LN/WN.

The LN has quite a few more scenes showing the Witch of Envy connection, and how more and more of her starts appearing each time he tries talking about his ability. How he sees her in his dreams at times, or when he dies. This is definitely a progressing condition, which only shows signs of getting worse. By the time of Arc 6, about a year after the anime, it's no longer just Satella.

From summaries of the newest chapter of arc 6, it gives the idea that Echidna's goals were not bad ones, she wished to protect everyone but saw that it was impossible to do so. And along the way apparently gained the power of her authority in a yet unexplained way.

I'd guess she was way more meek and not a manipulator, but she changed along the way in pursuit of a way to "save everyone."

Then Fortuna got her hands on her and recognized her and decided to protect her with Petelgeuse's aid but then Pandora caught up with them. You know, i don't think we have any confirmation on how Shaula has lived for so long, do we? From the looks of it she might be human, but if so, how the hell has she remained alive for 400 years? and from the looks of it, not aged at all.

For all we know, it may be a similar case to Emilia's mother. Who was apparently human. The problem is, Echidna apparently knew her, but she died 400 years ago, and Emilia was born around 110+ years ago. So maybe her mother has a similar process to Shaula's to keep her alive for a long while? Assuming Shaula is human in the first place.
