It spoils a huge event midway through the series with pointless in medias res bullshit, The series redoes the whole episode almost shot-for-shot in the 2nd half once it reaches that chronologically so there is literally no reason to watch episode 1.

It also does a really bad job of giving you an idea of what to expect from the series.
