Pretty much this. The entire main theme is just about how real love comes to be and how that differs from simple infatuation.

Well I liked it.

Amusingly, it was that Riiyoga video that convinced me. Because the first time I saw it, I wasn't sure what everyone liked about it. Perhaps because I wasn't well informed on what Toradora even was about, and I wasn't interested in the romance genre until reaching a much older age.

When I re-watched it later on, I had more appreciation for it.

I liked the subtle things that are well written.
The scene where Taiga double-checks the scarf moments before investigating what she things is an intruder that could murder her is one of my favorite 'blink and you'll miss it' moments.

I enjoyed the ending for how unambiguous and ultimately happy it was. That said, I feel like a year is a really damn long time for them to be apart for.

It would have been nice to see them interact openly as a couple for a minute.

No. Cheap melodramas always fail to amuse me, since I can see through all of the tricks that are supposed to make me cry. I didn't shed a single tear during Anohana and Ef a tale of memories, and both got a 1/10 from me. I hate it when a show tries to force/trick me to care.

It was very refreshing to see a series actually commit and show a real ending and no of that bullshit reset so common in anime. That said, the last couple of episodes were rushed as fuck and the pacing was horrible. The series could have used an extra episode to just chill and explain things. Maybe give a glimpse of how the characters are going to move on with their lives, what universities they'll go to, careers, etc.

And of course show a little of cute couple things.

E7 was amazing, but there's something off about the main romance. Eureka spends most of the series being an insufferable cunt. She starts great, as a fun yet a bit cold girl. But then she gets progressively worse, first becoming depressed/sick, and finally getting insane, before the very final episodes.

It's a miracle that Renton's feelings stayed so strong through out all of it.
