Guns are the "great leveler." Any fucking retard can pick up a gun and pull the trigger no sweat, requires barely any skill and it's so fast/powerful that any weakling can kill hundreds with one.

Crossbows are a lot more avoidable, less destructive in a lot of cases, and require more skill to load/cock and aim. As for the cannon, it takes a hell of a person to be able to use something like that attached to their arm.

The principle Guts would hate is that this weapon essentially makes hard-work useless. You don't have to have skill or anything more than basic training, you just point and shoot and something dies. Guts would hate the idea of that.

And that was when he was severely injured (of course, that doesn't matter as much when he's wearing the armor, but it almost definitely still affected him). Hell, without the armor and a fairly long time ago, he was able to hold his own when he fought Zodd's Apostle form and was actually getting the upper hand against his more humanoid form.

You're right that Griffith and the God Hand still seem to be pretty far outside of Guts's league, but they're almost certainly the only ones who are -- at least of the characters introduced so far. Remember, he only needed a minor assist from the mermaids to beat that Sea God, which seemed to be a pretty big deal in its own right.

That's not the case at all. It might be true that it doesn't take all that long to become passable with a rifle, but to get to the point where you could be considered in any way "skilled" takes real effort.

I also don't see why Guts would really care either way. He's armed to the teeth with as many different types of weapons as he can carry. He's always struck me way more as the sort of guy who just does whatever the fuck works. Besides, Guts is swole enough that guns, especially the early guns that the Berserk universe would have any chance at getting, would by no means invalidate his swordsmanship.

Considering the effectiveness of handguns at range running is your best bet. The farther you get away the much higher the chance of you not getting hit. Sniper rifles are a different animal but it takes an even greater level of skill to effectively get a shot at the target so in a crowd your best bet is still running and not making yourself the easy pickings.

I think rifling being invented in Europe was the tipping point. A lot of people don't realize that until cartridge bullet they were huge musket balls usually .55 caliber and above. It's really easy to kill someone, true. Especially on accident, which is why guns need to be treated with the respect they deserve. Even so, it's difficult to kill someone on purpose, especially if the other person also has a gun.

The greatest obstacle a person with a gun has to overcome is themselves. Lots of people reasonably have an aversion to killing others, preferring to shoot to wound, which is dangerous for multiple reasons. Lots of people are also simply outright terrified, an ongoing theme in Berserk. How can anyone kill another person on purpose if they aren't in a right state of mind?

If you're not willing to go out and try a gun, try playing John Wick in VR if you can find someone with a vive. You'll understand what I mean when I say that using a gun is not easy.

Yes. It takes more skill than you'd think but less than you retards make it out to be. On my first shooting I could hit 3/5 times at 200yds. I'm afraid to burst your bubble but yes, it is as simple as point and shoot. Now, if you're an absolute retard, and many people living in protected environments are, you might fuck up somewhere between loading and firing, but anyone with a decent eye for analysis could figure out how to use an average gun within seconds, and unless he has the shakes, and he might, killing people should be pretty straightforward. It's really not that hard. Not that I don't like it though, I think not enough people respect invention as mans true strength.
