Never cared for it. All the threads back in the day just turned me off from it. And the way its fandom morphed throughout the years just diminished what little curiosity I had.

Same as Eva, did everything it sought out to achieve, with peerless execution no less.

FMAB 8/10
Clumsy at times, but still a great series. Discounting the rush through previously adapted material, it succeeded in translating the a lot of the pivotal moments of the manga, and even surpassing them at some.

S;G 7/10
It was a fine enough adaptation, but it glossed through a lot of things it shouldn't have glossed over. And instead focusing on stuff that could've been glossed over. Still had some really strong moments though.

Been way too long since I watched FMA so I don't know, was watching Eva last year and just unintentionally dropped it around the middle didn't even get to the coma fap.

Come to think of it I never finished Bebop even though I enjoyed it and fully intended to, think I had only a few episodes left so I never found out what that bang was all about.

Only read the first 7.5 volumes of the manga. Really good, but lost interest.

Only seen 1 episode, nothing special, bit need to see more to really judge it. 2003 was pretty good.

1. Neon Genesis Evangelion. Best anime I have ever watched. Only 10/10 I'll ever grant.
2. Death Note. 9/10. I know it's filled with plotholes and all, but it's pretty goddamn interesting. It kept me hanging on for 37 episodes, not bad, if I may say so. I may be a bit biased, since this was the first anime TV series I ever watched.
3. Code Geass. 8/10. I fucking loved it. I loved all of the stupid shit, the insane gambits, the characters, the setting, the inconsistent rules of the universe, and all that. It may not exactly be a critical masterpiece, but I sure as hell enjoyed watching it.
4. Cowboy Bebop. 6/10. Kinda overrated, in my opinion. A bit cliché, in comparison to American films. I kinda enjoyed it, but not that much.
5. Fullmetal Alchemist. 9/10. Pretty fun to watch, certainly outstanding, in my opinion.
6. Steins;Gate. 9/10. I thought it was great back when I first watched it. It hooked me right on from the beginning. I personally think it was pretty well planned-out and written. I enjoyed it plenty. Is it waifufag-pandering trash? Yes, but I like it.

It's a 7/10 like Death Note and Evangelion with more fun but even less logic. That's the beauty of it and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's just iconic for being able to appeal to a lot of people as well as moral questions.
Honestly best to watch as a pre-teen and to re-watch later to say how much you didn't notice the series wasn't all just a fighting series with some drama. It's never going to be a masterpiece or over a 7 but it doesn't have to be. The series has heart and leaves an impression. I could go on but please anon make sure to watch both seasons before season 3.

Casuals, anons, and beginners to anime were living the Geass life. If someone hates it I just assume they hate fun. I watched it as a kid with my siblings and some stuff just flew over my head like all the fanservice and certain scenes and meanings of certain things. Plus on a second watch or watch when you aren't a kid make it easier to see all the crazy stuff that happens for no reason. R2 especially.

I don't know what I was expecting from this thread. Obviously lots of people dislike some controversial shows like EVA and bebop, but I can't imagine anyone actually liking the aborted baby of good writing, Code Geass, more than those two. That show is pretty much the definition of the reason why you shouldn't shove a school setting where one obviously doesn't belong. At least in EVA you barely ever saw them in school and it was very minimal.
