In the alpha attractor field she lives at least until 2034 as a prominent SERN figure, most likely aiding in time travel and neurology experiments.

Just rewatched that scene, I am actually too autistic to make out what they mean by this holy fuck.

I think it's easier to understand if I rewatch the entire thing? Or maybe Kurisu thinks the technique is indeed reffering to sex? ANd she's trying to ask if he is gonna fuck the trap?

She says "if you would ANYTHING to perfect your ultimate technique, even if you had someone you loved (she whispers this last part)."

I think she's referring to sex, but I do believe she's asking if he'd fuck her, as in Kurisu. She also watches the date like a hawk, watching Okabe's every move.

The anime is not canon anyhow.
But the C;C anime kept the Akihabara reference in it and R;N has Daru, Takumi and Kurisu arguing on Twitter, even in the anime.
>>
>>155402278
Pretty much fan service then, I see. Yeah, given the differences between the two I figured some anime stuff isn't canon. Isn't Nae in R;N though? Not sure how it fits with the S;G canon, I haven't seen R;N.
>>
>>155402438
All anime adaptions are just fanservice to the source material.
Nae fits in R;N normally.
The entirety of R;N is on world line 1.048596 or as you call it "The Steins Gate World Line".
Chaos;Head happens on all world lines shown in the S;G VN. Chaos;Child can only take place in the Steins Gate World Line because of the requirements of the Chaos World.
In Beta Attractor Field the World War begins before 2015 thus making the C;C events impossible and on Alpha Sern sets up the dystopia thus making the Chaos World unnecessary.
Correct me if I'm wrong on the Alpha attractor field.
>>
>>155402625

>"HIDDENHAND. The invisible hand of God... Kagome Kagome, as well. Haven't you noticed yet? That these are keywords with important meaning to the Illuminati."
>"Illumi...nati? What are you talking about?"
>"Well, just another name for a secret society that has existed for well over 200 years now... the Committee of 300. Kagome Kagome is just another way of interpreting an old symbol of theirs, the Star of David."
>"What? Kagome Kagome is an old Japanese kid's song, that doesn't make sense."
>"I said they existed for over 200 years, didn't I? Both the Committee of 300, and the Illuminati were founded in the 1700s. Japan was still in the midst of the Edo period back then. Wouldn't it be convenient for those invisible rulers if their dark, slimy tentacles could extend towards the Far >East and infest the golden paradise that was flourishing there?"
>"What... you're saying that this Committee or whatever is sending the Kagome Kagome signal to everyone's PokeComs?"

Watch everything except Chaos;Head. Everything else is somewhat decent. You'd probably be better off playing the VNs while you wait, if you haven't done so already.
>>
>>155413762

The only adaptation that was done well and is worth watching is S;G's. R;N's was mediocre with poor pacing and characterization issues. C;C is unaccpetable in that it's filled with spoilers for the VN that should not be in what they adapted along with all characters being shafted. C;H doesn't exist.

>>
>>155434108
I think what disappointed me the most was that the premise isn't bad, they just needed a much better way to explain it just so it doesn't mess with the mechanics
>>
>>155434156
It's fine if you though it was shit, but honestly, what did you expect from an anime movie sequel to a show?
>>
>>155434087
It could've gone worse really, like making it a sequel-bait or breaking the status quo.
>>
>>155434236
Breaking the status quo is pretty much a theme of S;G, so it's not that far off. That said, with 0 finally out, hopefully they'll revisit Antimatter. I'm a little burnt out on time travel drama though. If people complained about the movie and 0, then Antimatter would have the same problem depending on how they played it out.
>>
>>155434292
Then I misinterpreted what he meant by breaking the status quo.

I thought he meant that the movie broke the status quo of the series itself. (ie. established mechanics and plot points, which does happen).

0 was pretty good though.
>>
>>155434338
But 0 also breaks mechanics too. Not that this is a problem, to me it just reinforces the message that rules are meant to be broken. Any sequel at this point will inevitably break the rules, as long as it's about time travel, at least.
>>
>>155434440
How does 0 break the rules?
>>
>>155434450
Daru keeping Okabe alive until 2036, no matter what he did, convergence should have killed him. But Daru himself got around this by finding a loophole, which not even Okabe could do after several attempts to save Mayuri. At that moment, I realized that the series isn't trying to be this strict template for functioning time travel. The message of the series is that these problems can't be solved by "sticking to the book", so I'm fine with embracing that as long as the series provides the freedom to interpret it however the audience wants.
>>
>>155434559
That was established in the original as well though. The whole "getting to the Steins Gate" sequence is literally the same as that part. Literally "Decieve yourself, Decieve the world."

The movie, to the contrary, breaks a completely basic term of the universe. There is absolutely no way for multiple worldlines to be active at the same time.
>>
>>
>>155434820
It hope that 0 explains this concept of deceiving yourself better. I have to finish two endings so I have to wait.

It's not the same thing. The death of Mayuri, and by extension Okabe, should have been fated by the universe as both deaths occurred after the time machine was invented. The only way to save Mayuri was a significant enough change to the past, which Daru did not do. Even with the way he faked Okabe's death, he should have still died through other means.
Remember, Okabe is only able to save Kurisu because her death occurs before the machine is invented. Unlike the others, her death is a divergence point while the others are convergence. So based on that, Daru should not been able to keep Okabe alive.
But you know why that doesn't matter? Because it doesn't have to. Even the characters themselves admit that everything they understand could potentially be inaccurate just like good scientists in real life do, that's what discovery is all about.

So it's only a matter of deceiving Mayuri. That doesn't sound difficult. I'm pretty sure the Nae thing only happens in the Alpha worldlines to boot.
>>
>>155442051
>Beta worldline future gadgets
Meaning the phonewave? No gadgets are "exclusive" to any worldline. Except maybe the Divergence Meter but there's no reason he won't build it anyways. I guess the only gadget that could qualify is the time leap machine, which isn't used outside of beta (until Steins;Gate 0). But the phonewave isn't tied to either field, it existed in Beta and caused the jump to Alpha.
Kurisu's death is a point of divergence, meaning the outcome is what determines the fate of history, since the circumstances surrounding her death meant the Nakabachi paper reaches Russia and causes WWIII.
>>
>>155442218
Read S;G 0. Nae had nothing to do with it, but he still dies in 2025. His death is not a divergence point, meaning it should have happened regardless of who's deceived by whom. It's a lot more than deceiving her, it requires a significant change to the past, which is what winds up happening.

Makes no sense. If his death doesn't matter to history, it should be variable, and not even require deception to change.

Sorry, meant Alpha. But anyways, in the case of Suzuha's machine, there's such a difference in the events that lead to it's creation that it's a miracle that Beta's happens to work better than Alpha's. Imagine if it wasn't, then I'd really be curious to see how the series would resolve.
>>

Same could be said about Mayuri, yet she kept dying. The only deaths that are variable are the ones tied to points of divergence, like Kurisu's. That's why her death could have been prevented.

The point of divergence in 2010 is the creation of a functioning time machine, not Kurisu's death.
Even if Kurisu was alive, the Nakabachi Thesis would reach Russia and cause WWII unless the metal upa was relocated by a time traveler. Kurisu has to be alive AND the thesis must be destroyed to reach the Steins Gate.
Kurisu's death is merely convergence. She dies there, it doesn't matter who or what.
>>
>>155442774
Not really, Suzuha presents this idea herself. If this idea was conflicting, then Kurisu would have died regardless of what Okabe would have "appeared" to see. But because her death is tied to a divergence point, the only thing that mattered was Okabe believing she was dead between the few minutes that he found her body and the moment he sent the first D-mail.

Convergence is not impossible to surmount, it merely requires extreme measures, to the point of causing tremendous world line shifts.
It's "luck" (contrivance) that the Steins Gate world line exists at all that allows for convergence to be escaped from without going so far as to leave the Beta attractor field entirely. By all rights of the story before its revelation, there's no reason it could have been thought to exist.

We can only assume that it would've happened regardless. I mean, if she survived then the whole world would know he tried to kill his daughter. But that's all up for debate, since we never actually see that. But if I'm not mistaken, I think we're on the same page here. You said convergence isn't impossible to surmount which is essentially my point, that these rules always have a way around them.
You are definitely right about the existence of Steins;Gate. It's luck, just like how Okabe happens to be the one with such a strong Reading Steiner. Of course, that's in no way a fault of the series, it's one of the tightest time travel stories out there. Contrivance is practically a given with this subject matter.
All in all, I guess the main thing to take away from this whole thing is that humans will never know everything, but a good scientist is driven by the desire to discover as much as possible.

Except her own survival could have interfered with Russia's research. She'd probably consult Maho and Leskinen and Stratfor could beat Russia at its own game. These are all hypotheticals though, point is, Suzuha's mission was to save Kurisu. Okabe had to let Nakabachi take the paper instead of just taking it from him because that would mean too much interference with the timeline. No way would he get on that plane without the paper, he had to do that at the very least. It's not that her death directly causes WWIII, it's just the butterfly effect. That's why the events had to occur exactly as they did originally with only the slightest of changes.

You could also visualize it as a photon passing inbetween two black holes. It passes through it in such a way that the gravity on both sides cancels out. So in that visualization yes it is extremely unstable.
But that is not really true though is it? Because the only variables we know until now for a shift into alpha is a received D Mail by Echelon and Kurisu dieing and the the Nakabachi paper being resched by Upa. Having just finished the S;G VN I'm struggling to find any plot holes. The only thing that seems kind of contrived is how Okabe is basically unaffected by shifting worldlines but for the sake of the story that's pretty acceptable.

>>155445566

So with this theory is the S;G worldline truly unwritten like Okabe assumes it to be? Or is he operating from the viewpoint of not having any direct input on the flow of that worldline? With the true ending, it doesn't seem likely that time travel will truly develop. If/when Kurisu regains her memories of the Alpha worldine I doubt she'd want that kind of technology to exist.

>>155446257

In regards to Okabe acting like that, considering the story follows the first time he failed to save Kurisu I would assume/hope that his behavior is written and fleshed out with that in mind.

This scene is from the first VN. If you haven't seen this scene while playing you probably haven't unlocked the Suzuha ending. If you played through the VN once, then I would suggest that you seaech up on the internet on how to unlock all the endings.

Steins;Gate. Like >>155457324 says, the Suzuha ending. Would recommend reading that one.

Funnily enough had just finished reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children before getting this ending.
While reading it the thought had crossed my mind that you'd expect people living in a constantly repeated timeloop of 24 hours to go more stir-crazy, funny in the head. Had wondered if that's the reason why it's primarily children into those loops. That the mind of a child is somehow more proof against that kind of madness.
