I just got done watching the 48-episode series. It was cool, good VA for many chartacters (especially Doppo), but mostly bad animation and low production values.

As for the manga, I got into Baki Dou after reading the first two series (I skipped the one about Pickle). Calling it now, Baki will end with Musashi beating Yuujiro, and Baki beating Musashi - Thus having Baki become the world's greatest without ever beating Yuujiro

Honestly baki dou is probably the worst of the series so far (if we exclude the fucking bullshit that is scarface) but you should really give the pickle arc a shot just so you can see the unchained fight in all of its glory.

Baki VS Yuujiro's fated fight for the world to see already happened, you can't do the same event again with a different outcome. It also ended in a "draw" in which both conceded the other was the strongest

To further add to suspicion, this is the first time an arc "enemy" is an actual historical figure. Miyamoto Musashi is Japan's most well-known warrior and said to have been, in human history, one of the few true masters of the way of strategy. It's like Itagaki had to pick someone Yuujiro could be defeated by without losing face, and he was the only choice

My guess is Yuujiro will lose and become a hermit or something, and Baki will manage to beat Musashi through some moral characteristic Yuujiro lacks - Very early in the series they were drawing attention to how Baki wants to be stronger than his father but doesn't want to be "like him" (i.e. a complete psycho with no remorse, killed his mother just for fun, no concern for the pain of others, etc.). Musashi is also being portrayed as a bit of a greedy ruffian, which is making me suspect the "Baki conquers through virtue" upcoming angle even more

Ya but every arc so far has had two or three main antagonists or groups of antagonists

grappler baki: flashback villains and maximum tournament
new grappler baki: the five convicts and the Chinese team
son of ogre: unchained, pickle, and yujiro
baki dou: only mushahi so far so there has to be one or two more fighters to beat before the series unfortunately ends

I'm hyped. Haven't read Dou in a while. I'm sort of tired of Musashi. I was shocked that Yujiro could get even more ripped.

I don't think it'll go further than Musashi. He probably wouldn't do the "fighting person from the past" gimmick twice. Musashi, despite being portrayed as a rube, is so far the most hyped "antagonist" in the series, with an absurd powerlevel - He beat Baki (the only character anywhere close to Yuujiro's level) in a few seconds after taking a jab just to test modern fighting techniques. He easily beat Pickle, Doppo and more or less killed a popular character in the top 5 of powerlevels (Retsu Kaioh), and was (allegedly) going to instantly kill Yuujiro with his meme technique weren't for Motobe's intervention

I just checked what the page says. It just says

So, in reality, it's just justifying the characters moving parts of their body after the related bones or muscles have been broken or torn. It's not about characters moving after death or unconsciousness.

Pretty obvious Itagaki just wanted him to fight Motobe because he was previously established as the expert on ancient jujitsu and ancient japanese warfare. He memed up his power level a bit (had him beat Jack Hanma, a pretty shit-tier character by the time of Baki Dou which was a bit of a B level character even during the Maximum Tournament arc) to make the fight happen, but Motobe got rekt by Musashi anyways

Anyways, nothing will be dumber than Pickle. The dumbest thing about Musashi is the ass-pull with Tokugawa's sister and her medium powers

I get that Baki is his bread and butter, but I would like to see Itagaki tackle other genres.i think he has the potential to make a solid romance manga.

Shibukawa Gouki was strong enough to beat Doppo without much trouble in the Maximum Tournament - The same person that had fought Yuujiro well enough to surprise him, land hits on him (nobody else managed this during the Maximum Tournament, not even during the 9 against 1 situation in which Yuujiro had to be put down with tranquilizers) and even made him go into his demon back mode and fight seriously just a few days before

Baki is a manga for homofaggots who can't into plot, characters, good fights or anatomy. One of the few mangas that somehow starts off boring and keeps getting progressively worse as time goes on.

Eh... It seems like he might truly go further. I mean, with how crazy and absurd this manga has gotten with Pickle coming in and now Musashi, I think there's no telling how crazy it can get.

If anything, he might do something like introducing an alternate universe Earth with it's own array of strong fighters. If cloning a long dead warrior could happen, maybe that could as well.
