That was a decent show with really great male MC and amazing last episode, but other characters and everything in general were pretty average. Also, I feel like Mayo was kinda irrelevant up until episode 10 which is a shame because I liked her interactions with Tamotsu.

I feel like the humor has a strong western appeal, especially the whole "Tamotsu does an odd job, or gets obsessed over a new thing, and something over the top happens." Reminds a bit of Milky Holmes which I also think appeals to western sensibilities.

I mean the style of the show, not necessarily the substance. It reminds me a bit of Regular Show in that it's sort of an over the top comedy where a sequence of events leads to an absurd finale. In fact, I think Regular Show had a fighting game tournament episode. Akiba's Strip executed it better though.

That's why I think this show is underrated a bit. I think you have to have certain sensibilities that anime fans typically lack, but you need to be knee deep in otaku culture to "get" the show.

Seriously? It's in-your-face obvious that she liked him for the majority of the show. The first episode kiss can be written off as an in the moment necessity, but starting from episode two you really see her feelings for Tamotsu grow. As she says in the episode she's always been alone so she likes the feeling of having Tamotsu and others with her. Again, this could just be written off as a budding friendship, but then there's moments where she obviously gets embarrassed in relation to Tamotsu. Then there's her sniffing the underwear. Or getting super jealous over the robot. And so on and so forth.

You'd have to be denser than diamonds to miss all this.
