- Autism bait: complicated world building and modular system for character (Servant) creation

Early on? Mostly yes, the first three Orders are the biggest wasted potential in the franchise aside from maybe Fragments or Apocrypha. The writing in them was sparse and often mediocre at best, and in Septem was outright trash - though I think Okeanos and Orleans had a few moments where they were decent.
From London onwards? No, there was a steady progression in quality for London-America-Camelot where it went from mostly okay to pretty damn good, with moments of greatness. Babylonia had some rough patches and filler but was still decent overall, and the finale in Solomon's Temple was fantastic.
Yeah, the events are largely filler and the early ones kinda sucked in terms of content amount/structure, but they're still good dumb fun narratively where you get to see a side of Servants you normally don't outside of stuff like Carnival Phantasm.

The inconsistent quality of art is definitely a problem though,same goes for the designs.

That said DW are fucking terrible developers who don't deserve their success because they don't actually write the game and their business practices are awful.

Don't forget that the heroine of one of the routes favorite genre of story is horror. Yes, Sakura's favoritethings are sweets and horror/ghost stories.

And Takeuchi badly did anyone not Saber or Rin in the body type. Its why Sakura and Rider didn't get proper curvy representation until much later, or by much more talented fanartists.

Literally every fan artist can represent Sakura better than Takeuchi, especially the Sakura fans in TM, like Koyama, Aotsuki, Black, and ufotable's Sudou.

Nasu keeps trying for kouhai moe, and makes characters like Mashu and Nitocris, but Sakura's still getting the love in equal amounts, especially with the movie coming up, and they've been only putting 3 1 minute teaser trailers in almost three years.

Literally any big announcement with her has bursts of fanart, industry pros and doujin artists lovingly celebrate her birthday each year, and looking at artwork for her on twitter, I'd say her popularity is fine.

Basically all three main heroines still have huge appeal. Sakura has had criminally low exposure compared to Rin and Saber, and the love from fans and TM employees both has not waned.
