When will Vagabond come out again?
Why does it take so long for Inoue to produce? Does he suffer with some kind of performance-anxiety or depression or he just doesn’t care about it anymore?

Anybody here knows japanese to read the twitter of Inoue?

Did you seriously expect to have a discussion on something that isn't garbage?
I just recently caught up with Vagabond and it's probably the only manga that I would unionically call a masterpiece.

Nice to see other person here who loves this manga.
The constant quest of Musashi for self-development is one of my main artistic sources of inspiration. It really makes me work harder in my own projects, and also handle better my particular insecurities and frailties.
The contrast between Musashi and Matahachi is also marvelous. We see that both men suffer many times with the same kind of problems: desire, egocentrism, fear, laziness. But the difference between the strong person and the weak proves itself to be not the non-felling of temptations, but the overcoming of them. While Musashi is submitted many times to the same phantoms that plague Matahachi he (and in that he is different not only from Matahachi, but from most people in the world) is able to keep moving forward, an ox in the muddy rice fields who gets dirty with slime, but doesn’t moor.
The general presentation of the characters is also wonderful. We feel compassion and warm humanity even for the lowest and most unimportant little human beings that are presented.
I love the part where Ueda mentions that Musashi is one of the few men who is willing to climb the entire rocky mountain, to go to the very top of it, while most talented and respected artists of the blade (as in any field) are generally happy in climbing a small hill near the town and look down on others, as if they were already in a top spot. This makes me think in the difference between Shakespeare, Beethoven and Michelangelo and other artists of the same field.

Inoue has bigger and better things to attend to.

thats a very healthy and pretty cat
Paws crossed, eyes half open,
In docile meditation the cat submerges:
More than in myself the Buddha inhabits in him.

is he on it much? no idea he had one

is this a haiku
>>155275910
It’s kind of a haiku, and yet it isn’t one.
I write some of those small poems (the originals, in Portuguese) with tree verses of 10 poetic syllables each. The haiku has two verses of 5 syllables and one of 7 syllables. There are also the mention to a season of the year (or seasonal word) and also to the images of something eternal and of something fleeting, and other subtleties.
So it is not quite a haiku, although I wrote it after reading some zen poetry and Basho.

This thread happened a couple days ago
It was something like anxiety, influence of others works on his works, and working on his other projects. Someone posted a recent translated interview with him

any chance you have the link?
>>155276387
But for real, it's in the archive somewhere I'm sure, but don't have the link

Not even the best samurai-themed manga, that title belongs to one written by someone who also wrote a sports manga which got an anime adaptation which gets posted a lot in 3x3 threads and gets called "pretentious" a lot.
As far as Inoue's stuff goes I'd argue that Real's story is better but I'm not sure anyone would agree with me about that. Best thing about Vagabond is definitely the art.

What's better than?
>>155275224
Great post anon.
And indeed, what hit me the most is how after he manages to secure himself a reputation, he discovers the fear of loosing it. Even after his legs get injured, which should allow him to "give up" on said reputation, he cannot let go of his Ego.
>>155277935
I would give the "best samurai" manga title to Shigurui, without a moment of pause
>>155281207
but vagabond's definitely great too

>Why does it take so long for Inoue to produce?
Why does it take so long? WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG?
Are you fucking kidding me?
>>155281207
>not Takemitsu Zamurai
Even with all these great samurai manga there's still not enough
>>155277935
>that title belongs to one written by someone who also wrote a sports manga
Takemitsu Zamurai was written by Issei Eifuku. Taiyou Matsumoto is just the artist
Both Vagabond and Real will never get finished
Also Slam Dunk 2 is never happening because of that.
Your hopes and dreams end here.
How much of the novel is left to adapt?
>>155282764
Why do you say that?
>>155281668
His drawing has become much more crude and careless on the last chapters
>Vagabond
>Berserk
>HxH
Why must I suffer, why cant Nips fucking finish their shit.

If you finish it, you stop making money.
