Wait a minute. Oreimo is an incest shit? Thought it's a moe shit. Brb.
>>
>>155272646
Well he got censored so he had to make the ending kinda ambiguous at first glance, but if you pay attention to the details it's very obvious that Kyousuke and Kirino stay together. Also he later wrote a short story that implies they're having sex and in interviews he said it's a "100% Kirino victory".

If you're only looking for incest you will be disappointed though, watch the relevant YnS episodes for that.

A lot of people died, MC found her mom and they started living together, she has trouble with her mom in the epilogue but still has the support of the friends she made throughout the series. Oh, and two of the supporting characters hooked up (the manga editor and the clingy girl, I think it was), but they seem to have broken up in the epilogue.

Anyway, nothing to get up in arms over. Most of the characters seem to be better off in the end than they were at the start. Overall it was a happy ending.

Entire manga is about gambling matches being set up by a mysteryous organization
At the very last chapter it is revealed that it was all being set up to recreate the sceneraio of a novel that supossedly was so redpilled about the power of trust and friendship that it would literally overthrow society, so the illuminati censored it and killed the author
The gambles were actually recorded for the sole purpose of uploading them to youtube so the illuminati can't censor it
In the next page they censor it
End
This all comes out of nowhere, gets resolved in around 3 chapters and the antagonist not only wins billions of whatever currency, he also wins the approval of his father which was one of the leaders of the organization in charge of the game

It is a LN adaption, but yes. The LNs are generally just better written, especially with the shitty anime original ending factored in. It isn't super romance centric just to let you know, and some find the thing the entire romance to be forced. I did personally think that it was really cute however.

>>
>>155276866
That ending was great, you're just a salty otaku that self-inserted and got salty when you didn't win the waifubowl.

He and Kayo were only close for like two weeks; it would have been more unrealistic than the coma to have her wait for over a decade on the off chance he woke up.

The show's bigger themes were about friendship and believing in others, not "heros shouldn't expect rewards." You're putting way too much emphasis on the shipping aspect. Airi was brought back to close everything up AND to reiterate the believing in others theme again.

Sensei was best girl anyways.
>>
>>155287351
There is a lot of really stupid shit with the last arc, and it follows the standard BONES pattern of creating stupid endings in contrast to the source material. Things which upset me in particular was the entire drama involving Roscoe 2, half the population of the country wearing rabbit costumes, dying your hair silver somehow being an effective disguise, and WW2 starting 15 years early with a bunch of stuff being used that didn't exist at the time. While the anime sort of built up to it with all of the chuuni nonsense, it was a really dumb way to go out, especially compared to the LNs which which didn't leave nearly as much of a bad taste in your mouth.
>>
>>155271914
I really liked how she didn't change in the end. It kept her character true and didn't have any cliche change of heart. It left her character kind of empty but I thought it was a nice touch to who she was.

>>155276947
I hate this so much. The live action version had a better ending than this.
>>
>>155287431
>It isn't super romance centric just to let you know, and some find the thing the entire romance to be forced
I only made it to like the tenth episode, but the romance was super forced. The MC pretty much just instantly falls in love with Dollgirl as soon as he meets her with zero development, but it's odd since, as you said, it's not like the romance is that big a part of the show anyways.
>>
>>155287687
Yeah I thought it was just fine, didn't have the same build up the manga did but it certainly wasn't bad.

Besides the idea is that Satoru disappeared (was "erased") after he went into a coma. So kayo just moved on and devoloped her life as if he weren't there.
>>
>>155287687
Who cares about realism in a time travel anime.
>>
>>155287889
I haven't read the manga, but I felt like there could have been a bit more stuff between post-coma Satoru and Yashiro, y'know, drag out there interaction scenes to have a bit more cat-and-mouse baiting between them. Maybe even work in a scene before and after he meets with Kayo and regains his memories.

I thought the point was that, even though he was erased, he still had a major impact on his friends' lives. Basically the inverse of Kayo's essay.
>>
>>155287916
Just because there is an unnatural element in a work of fiction doesn't mean that you can completely abandon all plausibility. You can still break your audience's suspension of disbelief.

Not that I thought Erased had any issues with that. It's not impossible that someone would wake up from a coma after years, and it fits the story very well.

>>
>>155287474
>it was too poorly included to be meaningful or understood
I wouldn't say that. You can form some conjecture based on her characterization throughout the series. An example would be her relation to her biological father. She said she wanted to have a child so that his family would live on. It's an obligation she feels she has as his daughter.

But if that was all it was then the father of her child could have been anyone. But, then you can look closer at her relation to her foster father. He had no children of his own. If there was a desire to see him have children of his own blood, then you can parallel that to the feelings of love and obligation she felt in regards to her biological father. Meaning it could not have been anyone who fathered her child. It had to be Yakumo. And there was no woman other than herself who could have been the mother.

I'm just speculating here, but I think it makes sense with how the characters are portrayed throughout the series. I think it's important to note how she thinks about Sukeroku and how that can be compared and contrasted to how she feels about Yakumo, since in a sense they are both her fathers.

>she just goes okay, let's destroy the other world
This actually fucked with me for days after reading this, but in the end i realized the other planet was already royally fucked up, its King was never to be seen again, countless people were already dead and that world had no hope anymore, so in the end it was more of a mercy kill.

The epilogue chapter having the mother abandon her again and ultimately growing up to just be a better person felt off in comparison.
>>
>>155291665
Most would generally say a firm conclusion that wraps up all the loose ends without feeling slapped together or rushed with a lack of consistency. Some people don't mind dark, bittersweet or depressing endings so long as there's proper context that got set up for it to be so without it all being in the last 5 chapters or a terrible final arc and so forth.

Even if a protagonist dies at the end, if it was foreshadowed or at least led up to it properly, it's far more reasonable than just reaching the end and then killing the protagonist for the sake of cheap drama right at the end.

So Bleach is the anti-thesis of that first paragraph because not only was the final arc full of shit plot twists, useless / underutilized characters and some severe rushed plot development, but the entire final battle was resolved half-assedly through contrivance and asspulls before hitting with a one-chapter epilogue that didn't really help how rushed it was. This isn't even getting into the shipping wars that will eternally rage on amongst the fans that remain.

So much shit taste in this thread. All these endings are fine. People sperg out about censorship and then when some ending isn't their perfect "and they lived happily ever after and the guy you self inserted as boned the waifu you like and got over every problem they had" they riot and tell the author or directors to kill themselves.

I have never watched or read a series and liked it up until the ending. The only exceptions would be studio meddling where censors want a family friendly perfect ending half of you guys are clamoring for.
