This may have been said before, and I am not even shitposting, but LWA has to be the biggest disappointment in a while.
It was never going to be as good as the OVAs but many people including me thought Yoshinari could make the drop in quality bearable. But not only did the animation quality drop, the characterizations and universe got worse too.
I still watch it out of some misplaced sense of obligation but it's very discouraging to see.

Many of these characters weren't terribly interesting to begin with, but they got even simpler. We get like 10 straight episodes of Akko repeating how much she wants to be chariot and very little of her actually working towards that dream.
I feel like if we had gotten episode 11's plot setup much earlier and had the actual plot-relevant details interspersed with the standalone just-fun episodes more evenly, it wouldn't have made me feel this way. Right now it feels almost like you could rearrange the episodes into almost any order and it would still make sense.

Aren't the other shows like 12 ep long? They have one episode to drop 20% in two episodes to finish at 50%. In comparison they barely lost viewership between ep 9 and 10.

My method is the following:
I go to nyaa, check 'anime - english translated', and copy the query's whole page and do a sumproduct on it. Any torrent that doesn't show up there, won't show up in my charts. This is to save time and effort. And to exclude multi language downloads. I myself download the raws for LWA for example.

Some people like doing this sort of thing with characters they know won't ever get together, because it gives them more creative freedom to handle things how they wish. The show inspires them and then their imagination takers them wherever it may. LWA is made by TRIGGER, which most people will know from KLK which was hugely popular.

Because of this, there will be more casual watchers who don't know about/don't torrent anime. This means there will be more watchers who watch streams. Anime watchers who watch a less accessible series, e.g. Maid Dragon, are more likely to be the torrenters as they have been watching anime for longer and are wiser in the ways.
