15th Angel Arael attacks Asuka psychologically, ‘reading’ her mind and passing the essence of human thought (and, also importantly, emotions which govern this thought process) to the next angel before it dies.

EVA-00 ‘decrucifies’ Lilith by taking the Lance of Longinus from the terminal dogma. Now Lilith is disinhibited and the lance is lodged to the moon so that it is irretrievable by human forces (some kind of supernatural force – i.e. science of the ‘first generation’ encrypted in EVA and the Lance – must come into effect).

16th Angel Armisael attempts to fuse with EVA-00 and access Rei’s ‘mind’. This action is facilitated by the information on ‘human thought and emotions’ provided by Arael. Armisael reads Rei’s mind and fills ‘out the blanks’ with data received from Arael. SEELE knew that Rei will be implanted with motherly emotions (+instinct), so they ordered EVA-01 to be sealed. They orchestrated events that would lead to Rei being attacked by Armisael first.

Understanding human thought and emotion is what lets Armisael to break the ‘wall’ (i.e. the natural barrier that exists between angels and humans; AT field) and ‘penetrate’ EVA-00 (controlled by Rei II who has a human body). Armisael represents the ‘human emotions (mind and body)’ in an angelic form.

(In the process of eroding Unit-00, a heteromorphous object grows out of the unit's back. It enlarges and expands into a form that is a confused combination of the Angels that have previously appeared, from the Third Angel to the Fifteenth Angel. It can be deduced that the genetic information of all the Angels from the Third onwards is included in either this Angel or Unit-00, and that this object was reconstructed and deployed based on that material.)

EVA-00 carrying Rei II (Yui’s body, Lilith’s Soul) ‘self-destructs’ and Rei III is born anew. This is what is widely believed by most people. However, what really happened is that although EVA-00 was completely annihilated, Armisael successfully merged with Rei II (as evidenced by ‘Rei III’ crying tears and breaking Gendo’s glasses when Gendo did not come to see her. This scene shows that she carries ‘human emotions’ and now has a ‘heart’ (S2 engine).

Rei also realises (through Armisael’s help of ‘emotions’) that a real loving person would come and see her when she is hurt. She now understands that Gendo is just using her as a means to achieving his selfish goal. Gendo is unaware that Rei is no longer a ‘dummy’ because she now has emotions (Gendo was never loved nor loved anyone so he doesn’t understand emotions). This is why Rei says that she is ‘not his doll’ (this is actually a line from Asuka; angels read Asuka’s mind and transferred it to Rei) anymore and ‘betrays’ him to merge with Lilith in the central dogma and grant Shinji’s wish (End of Evangelion). Why would she be attached to Shinji emotionally? This is because she realised that Shinji was who really cared for her emotionally when she was just a ‘pet dummy’. Now she understands how he felt all along through the help of Armisael (the provider/teacher of feelings).

Now Rei contains Yui Ikari/human body, Lilith’s soul and Adam’s soulless heart – S2 engine of Armisael. She closely resembles the first ancestral race (both tree of life and knowledge, containing Adam’s body/soul and Lilith’s body/soul).

Kaworu appears as the 17th angel (Shito – messenger of ‘god’, the first ancestral race; souls from the next dimension). Shinji is unaware that he is an angel and treats him emotionally as a human equivalent. This is very confusing to Kaworu because he has never been ‘loved’ (unconditionally, with feelings). He realises when he reaches the terminal dogma that what resides there is not Adam but Lilith, and that humans are not off-springs of Adam. He also realises his own identity; that he is neither fully human nor fully angel. Now he understands why Shinji behaved so emotionally (which is very unnatural for him) and that he must die and his soul released into human hands (SEELE) to trigger 3rd impact through Lilith. He also instinctively understands that EVA-01 is made of Lilith, not Adam.

Kaworu surrenders himself and dies to EVA-01, and his soul is released and resides in the S2 engine of EVA-01. EVA-01 now has a human (offspring of Lilith) soul, Lilith’s body and Adam’s heart and soul. Now it can also function without the pilot (who completes the ‘core’ of the EVA; but since Adam’s soul and S2 engine are inside Eva-01, they have fused to complete the ‘red core’ and is ready to be crucified through it).

Adam’s body is fused to Gendo’s hand which Rei takes before fusing with Lilith. At this point she is nearly completely ‘god-like’ because she now has Adam’s body with Adam’s heart (S2 Engine), Lilith’s body with Lilith’s heart and soul.

Ritsuko is shot dead by Gendo. She sees the apparition of Rei before her death. This scene confirms her homosexuality and that she secretly loved Rei. This is because Rei I psychologically traumatised her mother to a point where she committed suicide. Ritsuko was not very fond of her mother – she was ‘electric’ and was actually more of a rival than a daughter to Akagi. Ritsuko attempted the self-destruction of NERV-HQ through the hacking of the MAGI system, but Akagi as a woman (Casper) betrayed her because Akagi was in love with (i.e. emotionally attached to; in a SUBMISSIVE relationship) Gendo at the time of construction of the MAGI system. Ritsuko then realised that Akagi remained a woman (before a mother) until the end, and that Rei (or Yui) was the true manifestation of maternal love. Something that Ritsuko wished for all the while.

Gendo knew that Yui would be absorbed by the EVA-01’s core during the contact experiment. He also knew that Akagi was secretly attached to him. With Yui gone, Akagi could successfully win over the heart of Gendo (or so it seems). However, this was all planned out – By winning over the (submissive) love of Akagi, the MAGI system would be designed with Gendo as its MUSE. The thought patterns and the decisions of the MAGI (which closely resembles that of Akagi), will centre on what Gendo wishes (or derives pleasure from). It will be programmed to strictly obey Gendo’s commands. This way, Gendo has almost absolute authority over NERV, because MAGI control NERV, and MAGI ‘loves’ Gendo.

Gendo implanted Rei I to kill off Akagi once the MAGI computers were completed. One cannot be sure that Akagi will always love Gendo (we are humans so we can automatically ‘reprogram’ our brains once love goes cold). The MAGI should remain faithful to Gendo for the Instrumentality project to work. If Akagi is left to live, there is a probability that she will find another lover and this will lead to her reprogramming the MAGI to obey the commands of her new lover instead of Gendo. This is why Akagi was killed. This way no one can reprogram the MAGI because its creator is dead, and the MAGI forever ‘loves’ or ‘obeys’ or ‘remain submissive to’ Gendo’s orders.

Mass produced EVAs devour EVA-02, the sight of which makes Shinji scream in despair and make EVA-01 release its ‘red core’ (S2 engine).

EVA-01 is crucified through its naked core, releasing Adam’s soul into Giant Rei. This now becomes ‘god’ (Adam’s body, heart and soul + Lilith’s body, heart and soul) that grants Shinji’s (EVA-01 pilot) wish.

Mass produced EVAs devoured EVA-02 which carries Asuka’s mother’s soul who committed suicide. This essence is transferred to mass produced EVAs that crucify themselves.

3rd impact is initiated. EVA-01 appears in front of Gendo and we see a dialogue between Yui and Gendo. EVA-01 devours Gendo; this way we can say that Gendo’s dream of reunifying with Yui was fulfilled. His soul and Yui’s soul now reside in EVA-01.

(Why did SEELE not just fuse Adam and Lilith in the first instance? Because that way they would have no control over the ‘wish’. They orchestrated events that will lead to Kaworu and Rei ‘falling in love’ with Shinji so that his wish will be granted. Shinji represents the combined voices of humanity so his wish is what the majority of people also wish for. So we can say that SEELE has achieved its goal of human instrumentality – all praise the Lord in unison.

Angels are called ‘shito’ for a reason. They are like ‘stepping stones’ or a ‘ladder’ to enlightenment. Their nature also governed/foresaw how the 3rd impact (human instrumentality) will take place – or rather, SEELE taught us to follow the teachings of angels who they understood was sent from God. So we can say that someone from the 4th dimension oversaw everything (looks into the future or ‘creates things’ at its own will; God) sent angels to guide 3rd impact. Think of it like this. We are from the 3rd dimension, and we intrinsically understand that our dimension has supreme command over, say, the 2nd dimension. We can draw things on a piece of paper and carry out its narrative as we go, and our thoughts become its heart and flesh. The producers of animations do just that. What they think, they make into ‘reality’ (like making a pen bleed) of our lesser dimension.

Adam taught us how to control force with the use of EVAs,

Lilith is the mother of all humans and the reason for human emotions

Sachiel taught us of maternal instinct (EVA-01 going berserk) and that it is sometimes hard to predict its outcome. It foresaw that this ‘maternal instinct’ (mother protecting child) is what will drive instrumentality.

Shamshel gave us the S2 engine to inspect and install later, and that it is crucial to tame this for salvaging souls.

Ramiel taught us the nature of A.T. fields and how humans can overcome great strengths by combined forces (i.e. as demonstrated by the positron rifle). That 3rd impact is no one-man business and it will happen in Tokyo.

Gaghiel (although not explicitly) showed that EVA/Angel matters should be dealt with on first priority (that it overrides even the UN’s chain of command) and this established a new hierarchy.

Israfel taught us of balance, coordination and cooperation. It also foresaw that the 3rd impact (human instrumentality) will be established by two separate entities that become a perfect one.

Mass produced EVAs (Adam’s body, heart/S2 engine probably containing the souls of the SEELE members) hold EVA-01 as their king since it contains Adam’s soul and is closest to god in human control. They move according to the thought-patterns of Kaworu (who is like Adam), so they could be said to be the next closest things to angels (but with human souls).

Now up to this point I am about 70% certain that what I wrote is true. Watch the series and EoE again if you have doubts.

This point on is my personal opinion, the PHILOSOPHY of EoE:

Angels could be said to be the ‘shito (prophets)’ from the next dimension i.e. new life after death here. Rebuild of Evangelion is a SEQUEL. We can see that the sea turned red as happened in the End of Evangelion when instrumentality was rejected by Shinji and humans returned back to their forms through reincarnation. So the narrative of Rebuild of Evangelion is after the third impact. This time, Gendo takes Keel’s (SEELE 01) place in guiding instrumentality.

It is easy to understand this relationship if you view it like this: Adam and Adam’s children (angels) are strict servants of the first ancestral race in the next dimension and are the ‘chosen’ ones. Seele is the Serpent that are disobedient to God (Keel the wondering Jew; Green with Envy; Kills the angels who will cause a massive explosion to wipe out humanity which is actually God’s plan) who wishes to return to the blissful state of God’s protection (Garden of Eden) by teaching humans (Lilith’s children) to initiate 3rd impact through Lilith. Lilith (humanity; German) is a curious woman that eats the apple given by Seele and carries out the killings of the angels through EVAs; and it is the will to live on (reincarnation).

The narrative of Evangelion is linear. It goes from 0 (life) to 1 (death and a new beginning) as if the next thing that comes after 0 is 1. We must remember that humans (without the help of machines) cannot count to infinity. If we take in all factors in the equation, the next thing after 0 could be 0.0…1, followed by 0.0…1 + 0.0…1 etc. and this way we achieve infinity. The life in our dimension is spherical.

Well about 70% of what you wrote IS more or less true. That's what I got from skimming it. The idea that e.g the Angels transferred some dialogue from Asuka to Rei doesn't make much sense, for instance. The bit where Kaworu goes to the moon is also complete nonsense. We can't really say that Gendo sent Rei I either, given that he does genuinely care about Rei in NGE.

If civilisation was constructed with knowledge over life, then 3rd impact happens in Lilith’s control, because we used its essence to defeat the angels. Angels can simply wipe out everything, but humans who held knowledge over power protested with ‘science that came from knowledge’. This way we become reborn as Lilith’s children.

Adam’s children (angels; shito) are machines from the 4th dimension (obviously, there would be human equivalent forms there too) that are extremely powerful and primitive in nature. They are messengers from the next dimension to our dimension, so they can count to infinity here, which is the origin of their superhuman strength. It is not impossible for them because it is within their nature to think that way. For instance, if a sphere (3d) is thrown into a 2d, a nature of a sphere would make sense to a sphere itself, but those in the 2d space will have a hard time understanding it, because they can’t count to infinity. Angels are ‘animals’ of the 4th dimension that don’t think (or lie; cunning their way through) to reproduce, eat or sleep. This is because they crush a way through a problem with brute strength. This is unlike humans who are physically weak, and learned to improvise on their weakness by developing technology (based on CIVILISATION) and rational thought. We made EVA-00 and EVA-02 from the body of Adam.

Lilith is like the ‘human’ of the 4th dimension that learned to tame primitive creatures like shitos through knowledge (‘love’). Lilith’s children (humans) imitate her behaviour in the 3rd dimension, and we built and organised a society around her ideas.

Angels are continuations of its previous 'generation' as can be seen in the monster angel where everything is combined. Gendo is a psychopath, he doesn't really have feelings for Rei. He would also force himself not to be emotionally involved with her too because he knows that Rei is just a shell of Yui and it is not actually her. If I was him I would actually be disgusted by her.

That is a lot of fanwank with very few basis. The only "evidence" to support that nonsense is that Akira-like deformity that grows out of Rei's back with all the previous Angel's shaped in it. You can't really confirm angel's experiences are inherited by their successors.

These theories concept of S2 engine and lack of understandig of the function of the core creates lots of confusions.

Here is a more refined theory:

- The core is the receptacle of soul. There is pretty of evidence for that throughout all the series even if you disregard the rebuild.
- The soul is resided inside the core. The function of the core is to amplify and expand the AT-Field outside of the boundaries of the body. Without a core a life still has an AT field but it cannot expands besides the body.
-Though the power of the AT field is immense, it still relies on energy for being expandade.
-The S2 engine is clearly explained as being the source of infinite energy of the Angels, thus giving them tremendous power.
-It is possible for Evas to acquire energy without S2 or the power cable: Through biologic energy. This is why when Unit 01 berserks, it always open its mouth, for BREATHING. In episode 19 we even hear the heart start beating.

We can see in NGE that most of the scenes where angels are defeated is almost miraculous (almost 0.0…1 chance; almost zero, but not zero). This is because if we fail in defeating angels, angels join with Adam to trigger 3rd impact for Adam and his children, which then wipes out humanity (Lilith’s children) – they become the first ones to ascend to the next dimension, and they leave our seed to ‘play the game again’. We can say that the characters in NGE die infinite times and are born again to their current standing:

If mission success = 0

1. Everyone dies and turns into LCL (primordial soup) in this dimension while angels transcend to the next dimension; souls in humans are salvaged by angels and taken with them to the next – ‘human soul’ are born as ‘angels’ (animals in the next dimension)
2. ‘Humans’ are born again from LCL (their origin of soul possibly from an inferior dimension) to reach pinnacle of science, technology and arts (peak of evolution)
3. Angels are sent from God to ‘test’ humans again

While doing so our success rate of ‘defeating’ angels increases slightly (through ‘trial and error’ under the guise of ‘pure chance’).

If mission success = barely enough to defeat angels

1. We carry out 3rd impact through Lilith with the help of the teachings from angels

2. Everyone dies and turns into LCL in this dimension. ‘Human souls’ are born as something superior to angels (i.e. we become more ‘knowledgeable’)

We can see that the background of NGE is like an infinite loop (while the narrative is linear) – Kaworu sits on top of an ‘angel statue’ on Episode 24. This is actually from the ‘chronologically next’ Episode (25/26 – End of Evangelion) where mass produced EVAs turn to Rei and crucifies itself before falling down to Earth. So we can understand that the ‘3rd impact’ happened many times.

All things die, angels and humans alike. In NGE humans reached pinnacle of civilisation, science, technology and arts and we ‘deciphered everything’ in our dimension. So the most reasonable next step is death (the end point of evolution is its own demise). Angels (shitos sent by God) facilitated this end-point of evolution by bringing swift death to everything that lives, but humanity protested because not everyone is knowledgeable enough to understand this cycle.

How do we know that EVA-01 initiates 3rd impact through Lilith? It is crucified backwards, serving the Geofront which is actually underground (black moon; where Lilith came from and human ‘souls’ are born).

However, souls can also define out of her own weak energy bodies on their own. That is how humans are created.

Why humans retain their bodies when they die is not clear, likely just a limitaiton of the mechanics of Eva that Anno failed to develop. But this implies that likely the sould dissipates/degrades with time but it is possible to ressurect a dead body by merging with a core. (this is purely speculation going outside of the boundaries oft he original canon and borrowing from that "direct entry" we see on 3.33 I still consider it plausible because some of the images of the Reitank sequence actually looks like Yui suspended on top of Unit's 01 core. Pic related).

Rei always had human emotions. In fact Rei III looks more cold than Rei II that makes no sense.

Again, makes no sense Rei being able to acquire the S2 engine from Armisael at all, she was isolated inside the plug and it is pretty clear that her body was destroyed when we see her hand lying inert dead when Ritsuko looks inside the plug.

What likely happened instead, was simply Ritsuko taking Rei's core, were her soul is residing out of her old body and inserting into a new one. Why Rei III say "she doesn't know" instead of "remembering" is open to speculation.

We can go into this theory of 'mitochondria' but it doesn't make sense to me. Mitochondria has its own DNA and is not actually passed from germ cells. Symbiotic theory suggests that it is something foreign that came from something outside our body millions of years ago. If it is mitochondria, how could it be in angels AND EVA-01? Is it Lilith-based or Adam-based? Or is it from the first ancestral race?

But there is a good basis for these ideas. Rei says "I am not your doll" <- this is FUCKING IMPORTANT. I am pretty certain that this came from Asuka

Rei is autistic, doesn't understand emotions. She just imitates it like the time when Shinji told her to smile, she just did it because he told him to. It is very likely that she doesn't carry human emotions. Do you remember that scene where they destroyed her dummies? They were all smiling and laughing for no reason, and so were the crucified mass evas when they merged with Rei. I think it is a clue that she didn't really feel the moment of Shinji's gratitude. She just did it because it would provoke a positive response from Shinji and nothing more than that.

Rei doesn't get the social aspect because she doesn't have much social interaction. She's being worried about and Shinji is crying over her, a first for her - her response is that she doesn't know what to do in this situation. Earlier in the story, Rei smiles or frowns, gets angry, so she does carry emotion. Later she cries and becomes insulted or insecure.

She lacks expression, not emotion. It's all natural.

I forgot why I thought of this, but I think its from the contact experiment between Eva-01 and Yui. And also, Evangelion units are nothing far from robots before they ingest S2 Engines. They need a pilot (who carries their own soul) inside their core to fight. But when they ingest S2 Engines they can move on their own without pilot's command. probably because when S2 becomes part of EVA-01, Yui's soul takes over Shinji to pilot the EVA. I don't know. My theory is that S2 engine (which is also a 'core') is a more advanced form of this which can 'pick up' nearby souls and ingest it and make it into theirs. For example, it can fully merge with the EVA's soul (which is Yui Ikari's)

Unit 01 also moved without a pilot in case you have forgotten. All evas have a Soul within, that is also explained in the series.

And the Eva soul's too. The closer the plug is inserted to the core, the higher the syncronization, however, when the syncro is too high (the pilot is too close to the core), the pilot merges with the core..

The reason why the Evas needs pilots is because they need a human conscious syncronizing with the soul in the core of the Eva. Somehow the soul inside the Eva loses partialy their rationality so they can't function in favor of the objectives of Nerv by themselves.

Like I said I agree with all of this, but this is exclusively an characteristic of the core, not the S2 engine. All thos properties are present on Unit 01 before she actually absorves the S2 engine from zeruel. Again, there is no reason to speculate that the S2 engine has any other property besides energy production.

You what I've been thinking about lately? Like, NERV was obviously constructed by people. Construction workers and stuff. You know, out of steel and concrete, electrical stuff, etc.

And I was reading into like Terminal Dogma where they keep Lilith and where they get all the LCL for the Eva's and manufacture them and so on. And like, there are concrete walkways, and railings and painted warnings and stuff and they take an elevator down there.

So someone had to go down there and construct a shell of steel and concrete around a giant fucking monster crucified onto a cross bleeding into a pond of blood. And I'm just imaging all these tired sweaty Union workers getting bussed in and asked not to pay attention to the horrible abomination impaled onto a cross while they install lights and rig up the elevator and stuff.

Remember Mass produced EVAs? their plug carries Kaworu's mental decision processes (computers) but it doesnt carry his body and soul, but it can still move on its own... My theory is that it was instilled with the souls of the SEELE members which was in turn ingested into their S2 Engines. EVAs without S2 engine cannot move without a living pilot with a soul imo, but the S2 Engine lets you bypass that by using the the souls instilled within the EVA units. This is why I am so inclined to think that the S2 engine is like the carrier of souls.

But they do, Episode 18 and Episode 01. You really need to rewatch the series, dude.

The dummy plug is also explained as literally a clone of Rei resonating her mind with the Eva while using a Neuro-biologic-computer interface like Magi to give instructions for the Eva to move.

Kaworu's dummy plug is likely a clone of Kaworu/Adam also resonating with the Eva. It is very likely that all 9 serie evas have souls within them too. The Eva only needs one soul to move, the one resinding in its core, but the problem is how to controle the will of the Eva, by partially merging the mind of inside the Eva, lost of its humanity and active conscious, with that of an intelligent pilot without actually letting it merge with the eva.
