Not him, but that's not the reason. The old one was cheesy and entertaining; your dick might've gotten erect, but your brain for once overpowers your dick and decides to read the plot. This just wouldn't be the same without the sex. Sure, right would be more fleshed out, and it does look a lot better, but it was the amateurishness and cheesiness of the original that got people to love it.
It's not just the art that puts me off, really; it's the change to the story to a more serious one. Gone is the innocence and the dirty childishness of the original.
