That being said, you couldn't get that item eanyway because the 200-page artbook is a stretch goal, sadly. Probably won't reach it. I guess it works in Japan in a way because despite it never getting an anime DI IS popular. Problem is that I don't think it's only Light, I think it's about Japanese businessmen in general, they don't know how to approach foreign markets, I've seen it happen with Nintendo all the time or Sony or japanese devs that don't understand how to use STEAM properly when targetting the PC market.

Still, it's dumb because foreigners don't buy Blu Rays so what would they get out of advertising the anime?

Though uncredited, he's been writing text for Masada's VNs ever since Die Wiederkunft.
From what I hear, they get along really well on Light's livestreams and wouldn't be surprised if the chuunigod himself considers him his right hand man.
