>Kaban's true identity is revealed in Kemono friends guide book with BD vol1, which will be out on this Saturday.
>Don't read it if you don't want to be spoiled before the last episode.
I may be just seeing things but didn't the tail part have some kind of outline drawn on it?
Here pictured in red line
Google translate has an app that can use your camera and that will directly translate on the fly any thing its pointing at. its really cool. You could try that.
your millage may vary however.
That's how it looks like up close.
sometimes ground camo works really well on an airplane. especially if its on a low-low-low mission.
I just finished episode 11.
I can't believe Serval and Kaban died!
The entire scene was foreshadowed all the way back in episode 1.
So we'll have to wait 5 minutes until Saturday, then 5 more minutes until the episode airs before we can come back to the 21 threads that will be missed in that time.
Imagine just what kind of Ceruleans they had to fight during the height of the conflict.
>burgerfriends in charge of saving humanity
Nowonder humanity has declined
I think it is P-3 Orion. He probably saw the first pic in wiki and drew it. Even the line next to QA is there.
Doesn't look like any v tail i know of.
>has a core that must be destroyed
do you think the witches would be able to defeat the ceruleans. Would giving ceruleans airplane boots and guns solve the alien crisis?
B-29/B-17 tail then. You can see the tailplane in that closeup is also rounded.
The P-3's tailplane has sharp angles.
that's jigsaw puzzles
product name "バースデー(Birthday)"
Kaban chan will be a new kaban freiend.
Of course they can. These witches are packing heat. Too bad friends are pretty dumb.
Its such a generic looking tail, its similar to a lot of aircraft. so i really don't think its worth stressing over. If it had its trim tabs or other details then it'd be easier, but there's so little detail that its just important as a piece of wreckage.
the b2 however was intentional. it wouldn't be the focus of the background if it wasn't.
I don't know the right terms I think but the B-29 rudder doesn't extend to the top of the vertical stabilizer.
Same goes for the elevators and horizontal stabilizer on the B-17.
This is of course if we are assuming the lines on the crashed plane in the image are meant to indicate the rudder/elevator joints.
I want both KF and SW Wolves.
>Ceruleans outside of Japari Park evolved into Neuroi
>Neuroi Witch and Cerval are ultimately two sides of the same coin (but Cerval was easily far more successful in establishing communication).
This picture is cute. So cute and innocent, that knowing what happens next makes me irrationally depressed
>give Friend Witch powers
>every single Friend-Witch's familiar is human, meaning they grow a pair of human ears on the top of their heads
Looks like something about IQ
...and how each episode is all about mindbreaking you to be a fuckslave.
Where are all the "Planet of the Ceruleans" edits?
This is overkill.
Just shoop the crashed B2 there
I remembered who else wore the same shorts/pantyhose combination
I want to touch servals ears and fluffy tail.
>what's in the bag
Y'all're missing the point
The bag started empty. It gets filled with the things they acquire on their journey, just like Kaban fills up with knowledge each time they meet someone new.
Kaban's a point-and-click adventure protagonist, so she grabs literally everything that she can get her grubby little human hands on that isn't nailed down or is too large (if she hasn't found a way to take it apart and put it in her bag).
It's not the fact of death alone that is impactful, but the execution. Which was great. And still, KF is surprising enough to lack certainty about whether it will be fine or not.
One friend suffered more than any other this episode. Let us never forget her sacrifice.
>you will never teach Kaban about the Allegory of the Cave by using Kaban's pussy as a visual aid representing the cave, your penis as the physical representation of man leaving and returning from the cave. When Kaban asks why he keeps leaving and returning, just tell her that it's symbolic.
Why don't they just get Toki to fight? Toki is top tier.
>Japari Park is in the GitS SAC universe due to Tachikoma physically travelling there in-game
>Mirai was grievously wounded in the battle against the giant Cerulean
>transfers cyber brain into Lucky Beast/park mainframe
>goes dormant after years, letting everything run on auto
>Boss's funky eyes are the result of Mirai's Ghost in the Shell™ awakening
Remember when the big Cell Alien was defeated in episode one it turned into cubes. Maybe the air force was fighting a gigantic cell alien that emerged from the mountain and after it defeat turned into the Sandstar Mountain we all know today.
Also Boss shouting PAKAAAAN like what hologram Serval and Mirai said in episode 10 was a nice touch.
>Neuroi one day crash lands onto Earth and lives amongst the Ceruleans
It's going to be the new わーい at this point
I want a KF spinoff with the Military Bird Friends fighting flying ceruleans
I'm pretty sure it turned into ANIMAX
I want to build a house with beaver and make her my wife
>Highway to the friend zone
>Gonna take you right into the friend zone
This looks like the scene from SEED when
Mu La Flaga sacrificed himself to save Archangel, but it also may be considered a good sign since he was not a Fortress so an anti-Fortress weapon really did not work on him.
>At 11:25 on March 21, 2017 AD, Kaban's time stopped at age 0.
>The Park Guide Did Not Return
For the allegory to work, you have to tell Kaban to wrap her legs around your hips the whole time and the "other men need[ing] to come in and free you" is represented by your semen fertilizing her young, maidenly egg. The baby also represents man leaving the cave, months later.
I don't know why, but these kind of Jaguar pictures keep reminding me of "that chubby Filipino guy who likes hip-hop" type of person many people have met at least once in their life.
Ohfuuuuuuuuuck there's a cafe with a serval and a fennec and an owl-
>it's in Bangkok
It's probably like one of those restaurants where they let you pick a lobster from the tank and they cook it up for you to eat.
>that chubby Filipino guy who likes hip-hop
I'll be honest. I'd be more than okay with eating all of the Friends at least once.
Maybe we can arrange something so the servals take out those trash-eating buggers?
I dropped it after Serval was chasing Bag in the first episode and I couldn't tell if they were laughing or crying because the VA was so bad. I wouldn't have picked it up if it didn't get so much art.
The first episode really isn't bad by any means. It's just that the mediocre animation initially put people off. The fact that nothing too bad happened (aside from a Friend possibly dying) and that it was otherwise two girls walking, it didn't initially show much promise. As soon as they meet Boss they have a clear guide to lead them which, over time, eventually culminates in Kaban taking charge and becoming the guide.
They wouldn't taste any better
Our ancestors were probably eating everything at one point and then they came across the chicken, then they never bothered with the other animals ever again.
>I wonder how many others were turned away by the first episode.
>I dropped it after Serval was chasing Bag in the first episode
And literally nothing of value was lost. Plebs that don't know how to inspect anime with a truly discerning eye aren't needed.
I forgot what a bitch Japanese was. Hopefully another anon knows.

>101 Dalmatians is a hit in theatres
>loads of people buy Dalmatians

>shelters get swamped with Dalmatians
Animal trends are the worst. I had a Dalmatian though, she was a good dog aside from liking to scream into the house if she wants attention.
I think most of the people here can read kana and basic kanji already. I appreciate the dedication though.
He just tried to translate parts and characters he recognizes which honestly isn't really helpful.
Anon's brave attempt at deciphering Moonrunes.
Does Laura-oneesan know she is famous now? Also how the fuck did he even get the interview? Simply phoned to murrica "gomenasai, tell me about cats pls"
I can. It was cute as fuck.
I hope humanity isn't fucked over in the anime.
I feel like I'm one of the few who genuinely enjoyed the chase scene. It's badly animated, but it still felt like they were trying. I thought Serval's voice totally fit her character too.
The first episode was pretty bad, but it was episode 2 that made me drop the series. I'm glad I gave this show a second chance. It would have sucked to miss out on one of the best shows of the season.
The tails do look very similar.
It poses an interesting question though, if we assume it is a B36. Why is the tail of an aircraft retired in 1959 shown next to what we think is the modern B-2 Spirit?
The most elusive of shitposting animals on the planet, and the most dangerous.
It wasn't their fault. Obviously the animation style doesn't take well to action scenes, but the scene itself made too much sense to just skip.
I personally dropped it pretty quickly because I thought it was going to be a purely educational kids show with no substance. If I had bothered to look into its origins I probably would've stuck around.
When I first saw Kemono Friends in the list of winter premiering seasons last year, I hadn't ever heard of it before and didn't know the game existed, out of all the things in the list it was the one that, for some reason made me stop and go "Oh, that looks different, I bet it'll be some nice simple comfy short series I can put on in the background to relax." I watched the first episode and the chase scene happened and I was just like "Oh, it's CG? Well whatever, that's fine, this is pretty much just what I was expecting." And it was.
But then it immediately started to grow on me, the bits where Kaban couldn't do anything, but she had more stamina than Serval.. that feeling of being so completely out of your element and lost in the wide open wilderness that even a small harmless-looking blue blobby creature poses a threat to your existence.. Serval's animal-like behavior and inability to comprehend the signpost or map box, and her excitement at seeing the paper airplane. It just clicked with me early on. Then I saw the second episode and my IQ immediately plummeted with Otter, and the Jaguar bits were really cute how she runs that little taxi for no other reason than to help friends. Then finally ep 3 happened and I don't even need to explain it, we all know by that point the deal was locked.
Animal ears are cute. This is very important.
Are you seriously trying to say the new Berserk is good despite the CGI as well?
I picked up KF since I love shorts like Nyanko Days and there are some good ones out there. CG isn't a factor to me since I see 3D on cartoons all the time. What really sold me was the little touches and details like you mentioned.
I was shocked it was 22 minutes too.
Did anyone expect Kaban and Serval to bid farewell in the way how things are turning out a week ago? I didn't think the farewell would take place with such a high-staked heroic backdrop.
>tfw this show makes me want to work at a zoo or something where I can be around animals
Anyone have job like that? How is it? Is it worth it?
It doesn't cost a lot to make but it only has 10 people working on it. It was 500 days on production and they are still finishing episode 12. It's too much for them. An no I don't want to outsource it to some chink/gook 3D company.
I can wait another 500 days for S2. In the meantime I am excited for supplementary stuff.
pls rember that wen u feel scare or frigten
never forget ttimes wen u feeld happy
wen day is dark alway rember
Kaban survives because the Friends are all seen in the OP building her a raft to get to the other island after she sinks the boat to save them from the cerulean.
The kind of budget that this franchise gave the anime must be next to nil. I think the anime was agreed on when the game launched, but the way how the game was going meant that the anime's placed on backburner as opposed while the manga kept going.
Servals seem to behave like playful dogs according to the internet so at least there's that, but I really do hope this won't increase smuggling of exotic animals. They're already popular though, to the extent that breeders managed to produce a hybrid between a serval and a domestic cat just for selling to people who want an exotic cat, but one that's easy to take care of.
I just don't think they put that much effort into making it good, for whatever reason. Although maybe his hands were just really tied by the fact that 5 previously unintroduced characters had to be more or less the main focus in a character-driven show.
>Although maybe his hands were just really tied by the fact that 5 previously unintroduced characters had to be more or less the main focus in a character-driven show.
Pretty much this, it was a "it can't be helped" episode, I imagine while initially developing the anime they crunched some numbers and went "Let's go with the idols as the poster girls", but then it started getting really good and they were just "Oh, well, everyone's expecting them, so.." It wasn't bad, but the tone just didn't quite fit fully.
Penguins still deserve love though.
>I hadn't ever heard of it before
Barely anyone did. If the franchise was famous, nobody would have given the show a second chance after seeing how awkward it looks at first glance.
Sandcat hybrid when? I'd buy it a sandbox to play in.
>Penguins still deserve love though.
>the alarm sound
>Boss' voice tone
this scene was tense as fuck jesus.
Figures I'd find one of the five other Anons I watched BBK with in here.
The animation itself grows a lot on you as well. It might not be comparable to what big studios can do with a decent amount of budget, but it's still extremely charming in its own way.
If we ever get a second season, I really fucking hope the animation style stays the same.
Big difference. Berserk is adapted from a long running manga with its own distinct style. They were trying to put that style into animation with fucking CG. Who the hell thought it was good idea?
In KF, it suits the story it wants to tell. Cute friends, animal documentary and a hilarious slapstick comedy kind of feel. It is like a sunday morning cartoon you watch during your childhood. Like pic related, the physic and the way she was killed by the bus. It works in CG.
I actually watched a bunch of CG before, KF isn't really that bad compare to the rest of them. In Doraemon, a high budget movie I actually find the CG to be too clean and unrealistic.
The penguin idols were a part of the game that didn't come about at first. The Penguin Idol Project event happened on July 9, 2015.
There would've been enough time for the anime staff to plan out the Penguins.
>Kaban calming him down
>closeup with dramatic lighting
There's so many amazing scenes in this episode.
They could collaborate with the studio that did the fight animations for Etotama. The choreography was great.
Fuck you dude.
boss you're scaring me
Please god no. There's a charm to the CG in Kemono Friends, with how much it accomplishes with so little. If they tried to force in this detailed, high frame rate shit it would totally clash with the feel of the show. It''s like that meme of "forced animation" applied to CG.
She's the last of her kind, do you really want her to risk losing her voice or forget her only friends?
Singing's her passion and she'll no longer be Toki if she can't sing anymore.
Losing your voice isn't the end.
I wonder if Lucky Beast had gone beyond its programming at that moment and somehow saw parallel between Kaban and Mirai.
>saw parallel between Kaban and Mirai
Of course. It was the first interaction between them after Kaban had the hat with both feathers. Boss recognizes her as a guide instead of a visitor.
This is one of thing supporting the theory of the anime being a sequel to the game.
1st gen = game = 4penguins
3rd gen = anime = 5penguins
Basically, game shut down.
Bad end. Mirai dies.
Ceruleans win. Apocalypse next.
x number of years passed.
Thanks for reminding me to check the thread for subs.
>Kaban tells Boss that it isn't time for the evacuation
>Boss jumps and starts shaking while repeating the same lines
It was pretty clear that Boss was agitated at that point.
It wanted Kaban to get out before shit goes down.
Then Kaban told Boss that she isn't a visitor anymore, and puts on the hat.
At that point, Boss saw Mirai in Kaban, and lets her do her thing.
Later, when Kaban gave Boss that look, it went "Ah". Boss knew what she was going to do.
The weight of that park guide hat is too heavy for my feels.
I had that thought before. I read in the game plot where Capybara assured Silver Fox and Mirai that volcanic activities weren't picking up and the giant slumbering cerulean wouldn't be roused, and I started to wonder if everything went wrong. After all, it seems like the volcano did blow in ep11, unlike how it was in the game.
(sandstar didn't occur from the volcano in the game though)
Yep, they need to keep the animation style. I think they will.
They could use a higher budget without changing that though. I think they could invest in more background art, more music variety, that sort of thing.
Think of how a show like South Park added polish without fundamentally changing the primitive animation style.
Because in the recordings Mirai says they managed to repair the Sandstar filter on the mountain, but it has become dislodged again over time.
They apparently failed to pakaan the big one though.
>Though my voice will grow hoarse,
>Let's keep singing of this love
>And then we'll
>zoom-zoom travel around the world,
>sparkle-sparkle glitter like light,
>No matter how far, I'm going with you!
You can be excited about everything before it but the sacrifice itself loses a bit of impact because the director promised everything will be fine. I still choked up at it and all the fanworks that were made because of it. I have to admit though, I'd have probably just have been just in a genuine state of shock and despair if I didn't know this was a kid's show.
>What happen to 2nd gen?
I assume, after all the shit, everything eventually calmed down. The remaining Friends brought the numbers of Ceruleans down somehow.
Another group of penguins found out about PPP and formed another group(They were probably taught by the previous generation?), and formed the 2nd generation.
It was funny because Boss almost seems to be sentient now.
I don't think the Bad End was canon. Makes more sense for the normal Good End, but then when the Ceruleans came back due to the dislodged filter the military got involved and humans evacuated the park. They were in over their heads, so the park remained abandoned, except for Mirai who presumably died of natural causes.
>director promised everything will be fine
He tweeted this. It doesn't really give off a positive tanoshii vibe. I still think you are right and he is trolling though.
Well they sorta did.
From frame by frame using paper to make characters to using cgi for a quicker, more cost efficient yet BETTER animation method.
On paper it looks amazing but southpark had only evolved to a more relevant standard
>next episode starts
>Serval wakes up and sees the giant cerulean raping Kaban with tentacles
>she tries to save her but smaller ceruleans hold her down
>she bites off her own arm, but still can't help her friend
>suddenly Skull Jaguar rides in on top of striped slug, scoops up Kaban and Serval and escapes with both of them
then they get on the boat
>Mirai who presumably died of natural causes.
>Boss begins to whirr and play one last recording
>an image of a very old woman appears
>"Oh, this function still works?"
>A tiny youngster Friend runs into frame
>"Oh, Arai-chan.. I'll give this to you. Keep it safe for me, will you?"
>gives her the hat
That would mean Cerulpocalypse didn't happen, and between Mirai having to left Japari Park (for whatever reason) and the rise of Kaban-chan, no major Cerulean outbreak happened.
Either that or there is an unsung heroine(s) that stopped Cerulpocalypse during those unknown years. Maybe she arrived on the island after hearing that Sandstars may mend her ailing mind.
i believe Keroro will save Kaban chan next week
Nature reclaims existing infrastructure far too fast for that scenario to be very viable. Japari Park's bots wouldn't be enough to fight this. Look at Pripyat for example.
It was a fair while back around half way through the season when people were catching onto the dark undertones where he reassured everyone that it was a kid's show and that no one was going to die. Can't be assed to track down the tweet because fuck Twitter but it's mentioned a lot in older threads.
>Japari Park's bots wouldn't be enough to fight this.
>Look at Pripyat for example.
I fail to see the logic there, when clearly the bots we've seen have capabilities far beyond what even our modern robots can do.
The park is a safari designed to be run with minimal human interaction, so why wouldn't basic electronics still be able to function after 50 or so years?
>Japari Park's bots wouldn't be enough to fight this.
I have a suspicion that the bots focused their efforts on keeping the Japari bun production facility running as opposed to maintaining the park.
How else are the Friends getting a seemingly unlimited supply of Japari buns?
In 5 minutes he will.
>cerealen is made of jello
>it kicked Selvar with such force that it could break stones
>but Serval got pushed into the jelly body to be absorbed
>now everyone thinks that Kaban is dead because it stepped on her
>instead of getting absorbed as well
I don't get you guys. It's like you are blind and retarded at the same time. Kaban is fine.
You sure he tweeted it?
I know he said something along the line about "it just a tofu, there is no need to think that it is some kind of special tofu" in some interview. Basically asking the viewers to not think too much about it or making the show seems deeper than it is. Nowhere does this implied it is going to be fairy tale ending. Sandcat would have written a more uplifting ending song imo if that was the case.
>Kaban is fine.
It still remains to be seen if Serval is fine. It's been suggested to us by multiple Friends that getting eaten by a cerulean could make you lose your memories or revert back to animal form. The thing is, Kaban wasn't an animal before.
So what would be more tragic?
Serval forgetting all about Kaban?
Or Kaban forgetting all about Serval?
Finally I have brothers who appreciates JUSTICE.
Now let us decide who should voice her.
I vote Risa Taneda
Friends can learn to read even without humans teaching them, as Gay Wolf shows. If they study the books in Owl's libraries they will eventually figure out agriculture.
This would make this anime even more biblical as Friends move from easy life in Eden to a life of toiling on Earth.
Even if she is absorbed, none of the friends are smart enough to figure out a way to get her out.
>T-they onIy need to destroy the CeruIean to reIease k-kaban!
If so, best case scenario is that kaban wiII become amnesiaic. Worst case? She's aIso reverted back to sandstar aIong with CeruIean if they didnt save her Iong enough
They had to leave the Garden of Eden. The friends have all consumed the forbidden fruit of knowledge of everything, and fire along with civilization were shown to them by Kaban.
It's up to them now.
>Friends can learn to read even without humans teaching them, as Gay Wolf shows.
Just remember the jury's still out on that.
>easy life in Eden to a life of toiling on Earth.
That would only be due to the bots eventually breaking and unable to keep up on the maintenance of the facilities. Its inevitable.
However, by showing them the use of tools, fire, and other things, Kaban would have prepared them for that change.
As opposed to a life of toiling, it would be more of the Friends becoming more human-like and forming a proper civilisation to work together to survive.
>Red Fox gaming binge are ust her pushing up and down buttons around in options menu or dying repeatedIy in the first 20 second of the pIatformer
I wouIdnt take it any other way. These beings are stiII animaIs. They are no match for the pure human inteIIigence.
Stop being so pessimistic. Tanoshii now!
Even Prometheus couldn't be there to watch humanity prosper after he gave them fire.
One day, the Park Guides(and Bosses) will have to go, the Friends have to learn to be independent to survive. And Kaban, the current Park Guide, had taught them the basic skills.
Its all up to the Friends to make good use of the gift of knowledge and fire that Kaban had given to them.
There is this girl here that have been name dropped
THAT'S RIGHT, DEAD TIRED of all these ceruleans!
