Why did the show make Osaka look more bland? I feel at times in the manga they made her really cute, and she was almost downright sexy in the animation prior to the actual TV series.

It seems to be the case with all the characters. Certain frames are drawn with some nice attention to detail and it really brings them to life. Eye lashes are a plus too.
