But there was this whole scene in Bokurano that just made me feel the weight of that despair. I was even listening to that 10/10 anime OP at the time which might have enhanced it.
Never managed to watch the anime, as I heard the director wanted to go soft and save the kids.
The movie "Grave or the Fireflies" got me real good.
