What are the best examples of pottery from Araki?
Speed King being built up only to get bullied for how mentally ill it looks.
How would The World and King Crimson interact?
Let's say Diavolo erases 10 seconds of time. However, as he starts erasing time Dio activates his time stop for five seconds. What happens?
Does King Crimson erase ten seconds of real time plus five seconds of stopped time? Or from Diavolo's perspective does it only seem to erase five seconds, as half of it was used up in the time stop?
t. Autist who sucks shit at fighting games
How's it feel being unable to do any BnB's despite playing for hours on end?
Remember when Kakyoin could paint people and then harm them?
Remember when Kakyoin could also possess people?
Remember when Star Platinum could fetch all sorts of shit from outside the cell somehow?
What's more autistic, being good at fighting games or still playing like a mentally retarded gimp after 200 hours? I wouldn't be surprised if you're Jahcoy. In fact I'm 90% sure you ARE him.
That was just HP slashing Jotaro's leg, the painting was just for show.
It was only 'sorta' used in Death 13.
SP's 'effective' range is only a couple of metres, it can probably go further.
>Remember when Kakyoin could paint people and then harm them?
You mean cutting them with HG tentacles?
>Remember when Kakyoin could also possess people?
Yeah its used a few times but its not practical for combat
>Remember when Star Platinum could fetch all sorts of shit from outside the cell somehow?
I hope you guys have been doing your WRRRYYYYYY's.
You do want to get DIO mode, don't you?
>But only Kakyoin could see the painting right?
Doubt it since it got stuck in a tree after.
Couldn't you just put SHA into a refrigerator and it would be useless? I guess luring it in would be the hard part, but once its in there it would just fuck around until Kira called it back
What if Gappy unlocked Sheer Heart Attack and used it on Speed King?
>This is the first time I've seen this stand after many many years
Davidshills please, it's time for you to realize that Morikawa simply doesn't cut it. Rikiya is the perfect Kira.
Akira was the shit. He should've been the main villain.
i guess this is close enough to a general for this, but how well are fan projects received? me and a group of amateur artists and writers have been putting together concepts for awhile now and think we should go ahead with a spinoff graphic novel about the original universe and the effects of part 4 years after kira was killed
do you think they'll play this when pizza mozzarella man dies in part 7
Other way around.
Dio stops time, but Diavolo erases the time that Dio stopped. Since the moment Dio stopped time no longer exists, then the events continue as if his power didn't work.
Akira was great. I wish he showed up a second time.
My main complaint of Part 4 is that Kira isn't really as cool as the antagonists that came before him.
I know that's sort of the point, Kira wanting a peaceful life, but him and his power is not as threatening or interesting as Bad Company or RHCP.
Also the thing with the cat was dumb.
Is it just me or does anyone else think that these shitty stand auras make everything look cheap as fuck?
>even the openings of part 4 have QUALITY
>remembering the times when people thought that shadow was supposed to be both Kira and Akira
>best manga arc in years
The Damo and Milagro Man arcs were light years better than this lukewarm wannabe Highway Star crap
Though the anime may have some great moments I'm sure we're all aware that David has butchered a lot of things from the manga. When the part 5 comes around, what would you like to see them do differently?
Alright, I'll admit. Most of the ASB moments and special attacks are better than what happened in the actual anime.
Stands were more of a spiritual thing back then, I guess Araki wanted to give him a voodoo vibe. He's someone that would draw something if it seems cool, even if it doesn't make sense.
>soft and wet with the shovel
>the big guy pushing his face through the grating
>everything with the fly and the baby
>yasuho with the pipe
Damo was better but this was great stuff, man.
I agree. To say Blue Hawaii is "just running" skips over the part 4 illusions, the CQC, Gappy failing at something, seeing Jobin's"Business" side. While Vit.C. is better it's a good arc and fine after the "downtime" that was Milagro Man and Kaato.
Blue Hawaii is probably up there in my favourite stand designs.
I'd hesitantly go and say that JJL probably has my favourite stand designs. Even down to Schott Key and Doobite Wah,
This gets me excited for the final Gap vs Beetle; probably at the Lone Pine since that's brought up way more than it should.
On a completely unrelated note
Rate my Shigechi
Is the name of the man who meditated under the lone pine an actual mythological figure?
A tree thats seen alot in the manga
but that's not true. I like the anime and the art still looks nice but the manga art style is better.
Notice the higher amount of detail and shading in the manga. The lips is where it's especially noticeable.
No, it's Shotaro Ishinomori, the mangaka who created Cyborg 009 and Kamen Rider and a bunch of other classic works.
This is Emporio! Say something nice to him!
Update, RPS Kid looks a bit more decent but a lot of QUALITY is still intact.
Ayylmao's episode though looks almost completely new, they removed a fuck ton of QUALITY and it looks a shit ton better.
Because Bruno and Diavolo actually meet during the story, Diavolo is presented and seen as Bruno's only adversary to have beaten him, and the ultimate goal of overcoming since his very introduction. A serious and noble cause that Bruno had been fighting for the whole time and died fighting for that cause
Meanwhile to Giorno, he's just another jobber that loses to Jesus-kun. The kid has no idea what they're like or who they are, like the rest of Part 5's characters. Giorno never learns anything about who he hangs out with or who he fights
Sleeping Slaves is proof the Part was never about Giorno
>Araki's top 2 part 5 characters were Bruno and Diavolo
Really makes ya think.
>only main antagonist not to be in the top ten was Kars
>only Jojo not to be in the top ten was Jonathan
Well, Pucci and Jolyne too, but they had only been around for a little while.
>Wekapipo gets fucked by D4C
>Magenta is trapped in Kars hell
>Diego got cut in half when he thought he won
>Hot Pants just sort of disappears after randomly absorbing a ton of shit
>Gyro dies by getting his vitals cut by tiny little snips traveling through his body
>Valentine just keeps on Spinning
>Johnny loses his head
Who the fuck from SBR didn't get utterly fucked, what the hell
Good song, not a good song for JoJo. Especially considering they got a 50x more fitting opening right after that one, which completely proves that OP was thrown in their for no real constructive reason.
It's bullshit that it does, it was well-suited to the middle (arguably the darkest section) of the part.
>Kira and his murderous ways are revealed
>Shigechi, a fucking 12-year-old, is brutally murdered
>The heroes brief moment of thinking they'd won when they got rid of Akira is shattered when their friend is killed under their noses
>Rohan, the most creepy and immoral of the ally character is introduced and tears off Koichi's face and tries to make Okuyasu kill himself
>SHA, which has Jotaro sacrificing himself for Koichi, Koichi seemingly struck down in his prime, and Jotaro being proud of him and accepting their apparent deaths
>Kira escaping and murdering Aya while he's at it
It's just an uninteresting song that sounds like every other j-rock song ever and it's coupled with colorless visuals to boot. It's jarringly lacking in any flair compared to all the other openings.
I liked it. Nice song and some neat visuals.
1 day for Giorno to enter the gang
2 days for Bruno to confront Diavolo. The actual mission was meant to be one week, but it was 2 days
When we get Diavolo's POV, he implies it's been 3 days
It probably took half a day to get to Sardinia.
Another half a day to get to Rome.
No idea how long GD&O took.
They were sleeping for a long time during SCR
It was probably a week
Anon who got Speed King'd yesterday.
So I woke up and the blisters are worse.
Are my fingers just fucked or what?
How do my favorite Chinese cartoon characters withstand this shit?
Time stops are like a fold in the linear flow of time model, and so Epitaph would predict Dio teleporting which would cue Diavolo to activate King Crimson and skip the timestop entirely.
Epitaph is what makes King Crimson so OP. Even without the timeskipping, KC would still be broken. It's why nothing short of absolute power negation could guarantee GER victory over Diavolo.
Shoot him in the head and be glad that the drug trade in Italy has finally ended.
Josefumi is alt Okuyasu. Kira2 and Josefumi have reversed roles from Josuke and Oku in terms of who's the idiot and who's the level headed schemer.
Kyo is technically Jotaro, she's even a Kujo and the daughter of Holly. Nijimura is just a pseudonym so she could get in as the Higashikata housekeeper without tipping off Joubin.
Post quotes the dub did better than the sub.
>"A man as splendid and as fleeting as the bubbles he conjured."
I actually kinda like it. Makes sense for La Sqadra to not group together and attack Giorno squad all at once since they had limited time and were probably in different parts of Italy. Prosciutto and Pesci were probably just hanging out when they got the info and that's why they attacked together
Let us almost see Kaato's tits.
YOUR NEXT LINE IS "DID YOU PLAN THIS TOO JOJO, TELL ME"
>how does he always kno-
*hit by rocks*
>DID YOU PLAN THIS TOO JOJO, TELL ME!
I'm glad you can accept your status so easily
Whammu is one of the few voice subs that I think really gives the original a run for it's money. The original was great, but it's very close. Whammu's death dubbed is pretty great, surprisingly.
Who else really got into Jojo on part 3? Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one.
Me; my ex introduced me to the series and it was during the time in which SBR was yet to be completed, inb4 oldfag. It was the only part that was available in print form at the time. Part 3 will always have a place in my heart even if it's not my favorite anymore.
The ghosts of Kakyoin, Iggy, Avdol, Joseph, Polnareff and his sister, the speedwagon foundation guys, the beggar who found DIO's mansion, the camels, Anne, and Senator Philips all appear behind Jotaro as he delivers his famous line "That's right bitch, we're the fucking Stardust Crusader!"
Salve, my name is Signor Hirohiko Araki.
I’m a 56 year old Japanese Italofilo (Italian fan for you stranieri). I draw Anime and Manga on my tablet, and spend my days emulating Reinassance art and playing superior Italian games. (Briscola, Ramino, Scala Quaranta)
I train with my short sword every day, this superior weapon can cut clean through any opponent’s back because it is made of pure cold steel, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my sword license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.
I speak Italian fluently, both Roman and Neapolitan dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about Italian history and their Flos Duellatorum code, which I follow 100%
When I get my Italian visa, I am moving to Milan to attend a prestigious High School to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an actor for the popular Fictions ‘The Lady’ or ‘Don Matteo’!
I own several orbace shirts, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Italy, so I can fit in easier. I attempt to snatch my elders’ and seniors’ bags and speak Italian as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.
Wish me luck in Italy!
Hey, /a/non... you wanna go to that dessert shop that has the long messages boasting how good their food is?
Like 'First Kiss Under a Starry Sky' flavored cherry pie made with plentiful ripe cherries cultivated organically using the droppings of the free range chickens raised with love by Sugawara-san from Tendou in Yamagata prefecture: 580 yen. And you will be sure to find happiness... And stuff~
Sweet and slightly bitter 'Fragment of Youth' creme brulee made with milk from the jersey cattle of Yoshimura-san from Morioka in Iwate prefecture which are raised on tons of farmland grass that was grown soaking in the rays of the sun: 580 yen. And you will be sure to find happiness... And stuff~
"And you will be sure to find happiness," ahahahahahaha!
...And stuff like that~~~
Hey, let's go.
For more the shits and giggles, I kinda enjoyed his RUN FOR YOUR LIVES.
And to a guilty extent;
IIIVE BEEN WORKING ON MY HAAAAAMON
Kira is a fantastic villain and a relatively interesting and developed character but he is the absolute bottom of the barrel in terms of power level
Unless he touched any of the villains first so he can blow them up, there is no way he can win on a one-on-one fight in general
>the resulting child acquires the Stand Stone Experience
Childhood is liking Dio, adolescence is thinking Kira's better, adulthood is appreciating Valentine, true wisdom is realising Dio is still the best
Most of the dialogue in Phantom Blood was better than in the original
>Father, I'll miss you. Please go to heaven with these flames. And then, help me accomplish my goal. Give these flames your strength
>Father, rest in peace. Let the rising smoke guide your soul to heaven. But first, please, lend me your aid one final time. Let the fire burn with your strength.
>Cease your useless struggle. Stop hiding behind the curtains and come out.
>You hide behind the curtain like Polonius, and like Polonius, it is there that you shall meet your end!
>I'll teach you, whether you like it or not. You will be Dio's first target in his conquest of the world, JoJo.
>You don't get a choice in the matter, amigo. Given your contentious history with Dio, I'm sure he will be coming for you.
*teleports behind you*
>read all the manga
>played all the games
>watched all the anime
It's sad to think it'll all be over one day. I miss JoJo fridays already.
Do either of them know each other's identities, and is BtD planted?
Kira could win with some SHA antics in some cases (since KC would eventually get worn out and he has no way of tracing it), but in a normal 1v1 Diavolo would demolish him.
Look, no one ever said Jotaro Kujo was a nice guy.
I beat the crap out of people, more than I have to. Some are even still in the hospital.
I've had idiot teachers who liked to talk big, so I taught them a lesson, and they never came back to class.
If I go to a restaurant and the food's bad, I make it a policy to stiff 'em with the bill.
But... even a bastard like me can spot true evil when he sees it. True evil are those who use the weak for their own gain, then crush them underfoot when they're through. Especially an innocent woman!
And that is exactly what you've done! Isn't it? And your stand gets to hide from the victim, the law, and the consequences.
That's why... I will judge you myself!
>That transition from Josuke vs. Kira into the Crazy D is Unbreakable volume cover
Man, Araki's style really makes an easy transition to 3D since its so angular. The games and OPs actually look amazing, although I don't know if I'd want the entire thing to be 3DCG.
Is Giorno objectively the most evil villian in the series?
>Implying he spend time speedreading 5th part, and dont read wiki brief retelling about it
70% of this general didnt read 5th part, and they prove it everyday with lacking knowledge about 5th part
>diddles mista when he's in too much pain to defend himself
>backs narancia into the corner of a bathroom while nobody else is watching and insists on touching him
>fists diavolo dozens of times while he's unable to even act
The official Vento Aureo Bruno's gang battle rating system:
>Includes Bruno: +20
>Includes Mista: +15
>Includes Trish/Abbacchio: +0
>Includes Narancia: -5
>Includes Giorno: -10
>Includes Fugo: *0
Notorious B.I.G. would be easier to appreciate if Trish actually did anything afterwards. Hell, she's actually detrimental to the team during Chariot Requiem cause Diavolo can camp out in the same body as her
Trish is pretty shit and should have been aborted, but the actual fight was cool.
Started reading part 5 a few days ago. This is great so far. I just got done reading Narancia's Aerosmith and it was really hype. You guys lied to me, you told me this was going to be shit.
>inb4 we get another game like HttF or ASB near the end of Part 8
>the credits will include a scene with Gappy and Jobin
It looks painful but you could also use his horns as a dildo.
I want to munch on Jobin's hot pocket.
Microwave King would be good or heating up lube. Those warming lubes are very expensive.
It's also great for massages assuming Jobin isn't a dickhead.
Any bath you have with him is instantly becomes a spa. He could probably turn a shed into a sauna for a fraction of the cost.
Soft heat can relax muscles for an easier entrance.
How is Dolomite holding the bucket and eating in pic related? The bucket was the size of Jobin's arm.
>the music reaches a crescendo
>the singer sucks in so much air that the audience is left in a vacuum
>Suddenly all the air springs back into the room
>the singer has let out an incredible high frequency "but not chicken!"
thats how all jojos should look like, not these modern twinks
will she ever be relevant again?
this is something that is kind of bugging me about JJL, it feels like lots of stuff gets introduced, but then has no impact in the grand scheme at all
Why the FUCK does he nipple zippers again
So he can easily breatfeed Koichi
think about something like Daiya's stand, what use is it outside of her brief stint as a villain of the week?
if anyone wanted to just kill her in a fight, they could do it and her stand couldn't help in the slightest
even Hato's stand is just "make really long and sharp high heels", do you REALLY feel that is going to come back in a relevant way?
and what about nut king call? that got introduced so long ago and has done precisely nothing relevant
What did you just say Amerifat?
So, I just got done reading Stone Ocean, and apparently Pucci resets the Universe twice, but then how is Emporio still the same in the second reset when nobody else is technically the same?
That and does Gold Experience Requiem technically automatically reset Gio and that specific timeline to 'Zero', prior to Pucci's acceleration? So shouldn't that timeline, as for Gio still technically exist?
Maybe the translations were shoddy because they were a bit, so its just a tad confusing.
I'm on Stardust Crusaders, they are fighting the Lovers Stand.
Does the show get any better?
>Emporio lived, only the people who died were replaced, and since he killed Pucci in that sort of limbo, he passed into the Ireneverse unaffected.
That makes sense, thanks. Because I was a little bit confused since the second reset seemed to just sort of be glossed over, or maybe I was just tired reading it, it was like 5am.
i think that part 1 is good in it's own right
same for part 2 which has interesting concept
but part 3 had so much monster of the weeks bullshit that if i were a new comer on the part 3 i would be bored
Phantom Blood is very weak.
Battle Tendency is dependent on how much you like Young Joseph.
Stardust Crusaders is good for the introduction of stands and the ending episodes.
Diamond is Unbreakable is good for the villain.
Vento Aureo will be good for the Bucci.
Stone Ocean is good for the Jolyne.
Steel Ball Run is good for the AMERICA!
JoJolion is good for...something I guess.
araki forced himself into a corner by basing the stand names on the tarot cards, cause then he'd have to go through all of them
he did the same thing for the egyptian gods as well so instead of having a few, meaningful enemies, you just get a rando who has a boner for dio
So I just got around to reading the new chapter and I just realized, does everyone who gets infected by blue Hawaii die? Meaning that multiple innocent people including a child and infant were killed?
what are some characters that deserve one-offs similar to Rohan's?
I would love to read about Mista going on solo missions for Giorno after part 5
His time until he runs into Diavolo
Fuck you for making me laugh at Gappy's death. Still keked.
As everyone has already said, it's a little too generic. It does sound like a Naruto song more than a JoJo. If they went for a more grunge rock style with the song, I think it would of fit the time period of Part 4 much better as well as compliment the amazing visuals in the OP,
He did absolutely nothing wrong
except kicking with his bad leg.Only speedreaders think otherwise.
Do you think they'll re-add this scene in the Blu-ray? I'm really disappointed that it got cut.
Try to ignore the memes and the fanbase and keep in mind that the show changes heavily as it goes.
Read the manga too.
And ignore >>154942002
Don't come back unless you want to be spoiled.
If Gap does die, I expect a video of this on my desk ASAP
>le did nothing wrong
Dio did everything wrong. By choice. With pride. And would do it a million times over.
And that's why we love him.
Get that meme cancer out of here.
>Had an opportunity to change his life around entirely
>Decided the first thing he was gonna do was kick Jonathan's dog in the face
>Burned the dog alive
>Ended up trying to poison Jonathan's father as well
>Goes apeshit once he becomes a vampire and his motivation is "I shall rule the world, mwahahaha!"
>Ends up weirdly obsessed with Jonathan after that because Jonathan beat him
>takes his body
>Is still "Mwahahaha, the wooorld!"
>Throws a fit when Stars are above The World and he dies
>Suddenly he's actually a profound man of wisdom who fucks chicks and dudes alike
>has kids for his massive keikaku plan of resetting the universe so that he can live again
He's bland and boring. Dio's character is all over the fucking place and his entire motivation is just boring and cliche as fuck. Not to say others in JoJo aren't the same way, but Dio is just shitty and boring. He has no real reason for doing anything he does beyond his father being a dick. He has no real reason to go that apeshit on Jonathan. He has no real reason for his insane power jumps and knowledge.
Dio is shit beyond his memes, deal with it.
>you can't beat me!
>Dangerous Zombie Lvl X power is infinite, I can't die, Emu!
>suddenly a Crazy Diamond powercreep bullshit
Why the new Kamen Rider remind me of JoJo so much?
The only villain who never had "real reasons" to do anything was Kira and that's because he was literally a serial killer with an uncontrollable fetish
>suddenly he's actually a profound man of wisdom
Confirmed for not having paid attention to Part 6
Exactly, that is why he's shit. He's simplistic to the point that its just pathetically base and un-interesting.
Yes, but Kira was believable and not just generic villain.
Also, Part 6 with Dio he becomes a magic man that knows all sorts of secrets about the universe, centrifugal force, alternate timelines/universe resets, etc.
Yeah, I'd say he's suddenly a much different character in part 6, even if that was the point that there was more to Dio than we originally knew. Dio is all over the place.
Phantom Blood Dio is the best Dio because at least it flowed well with the given material at the time unlike now where its just gotten ridiculous to the point of absurdity even by JoJo standards. Which says a lot because PB Dio sucks just as much cock.
kirafags, is this really what your kind is like
so i finally finished part 7.
and despite having like everything spoiled for me i thought it was incredible.
how does johnny get out of the infinite rotation though?
I'm a Kirafag and I still like all the other villains. That guy's just an autist, ignore him.
Diego is always a cute
Your argument wasn't even that, you had a clear misunderstanding of the character's history and personality since, as you claim, he is "all over the place".
You clearly missed as to why he obsessed over Jonathan, why he wasted his opportunity to turn his life around, why he was the way he was in Part 6, and you say he never had any "real reason" to do anything.
I mean, fuck, the manga literally narrates this stuff out for you.
>Dio but with dinosaur transformation, gray morality, and
Truly toppest boy.
>You clearly missed as to why he obsessed over Jonathan
Because he envied Jonathan.
>why he wasted his opportunity to turn his life around
Because he's a shit just like his father.
>why he was the way he was in Part 6
You mean the time period that happened before Part 3 where he is nothing like that?
So please, if Dio is so great, please explain to me how he is this wonderful 10/10 villain.
I think you’re missing the point of him if you get hung up on this arbitrary idea that a character who’s evil can’t be written in a complex and engaging way. All you did was boil him down to his goal. I could write the same shit about whatever villains you like.
There’s a lot going on with Dio but if you get too lost in needing a “good enough” explanation for why he’s evil, something that in his case is a given, you’ll miss all the interest in his character.
Did I? I suppose I did, my mistake on that. Kira is pretty generic, he's just a serial killer, but his motivations and weirdness are very serial killer like, so it fits better as a character.
Will this finally be the year Araki references Gorillaz?
>because he envied Jonathan
Absolutely not true.
>because he's shit just like his father
That's not all there is to it.
>he wasn't anything like that in Part 3
Simply not true.
Why should I spoonfeed you ?
I wasn't even arguing that.
I think the manga is better. You should read it instead.
Read in B/W because the color scans are awful.
Dio-----is a gay cuck. Prove me wrong.
>villains who are simple and want to take over the world are shit
I feel sorry for someone with such boring taste
Dio wasn't very complex or engaging and they made a point that some people are just born evil.
Yes, that is exactly why. Dio himself says that he envies the way Joseph is able to overcome adversity and is able to defeat Dio who sees himself as a God.
Also you're right, that isn't all there is to him, he was just evil from birth, which they make a point of.
Also he wasn't like that in Part 3. Dio was still largely the same as he was in Part 1, he just talked a little more. He wasn't prattling on on ridiculous levels like he does in Part 6, especially with some of the stuff he's going on about. Besides, I'll give him a point for being ironic there considering he's not human yet seeks those very ideals.
Either way, these arguments are getting us nowhere because clearly we aren't going to agree on Dio and its just ultimately derailing the thread of other stuff.
>kars takes lisa lisa as a hostage to take advantage of joseph
>exact mirror of the straizo fight when he takes the reporter to take advantage of joseph
araki loves his subtle callbacks
Aku was a primordial evil who traveled the Universe fighting literal Gods. Even then Aku has more to him than just take over the world. Considering despite his serious generic tones, he's often a comedy character.
Ignore literally everything about this guys post.
Watch the 2012 anime then decide if you want to read or watch because you get the same experience. I'd recommend Part 3 anime, Part 4 manga but decide for yourself. The first 2 parts are fucking horrid without the life that being animated brings.
No. Listen to my post and read the manga. The Part 3 anime has very bad pacing and a lackluster finale while the Part 4 anime cuts out a lot of memorable moments. Please just read the manga ok?
>because you get the same experience
But you won't, the anime skips skips a couple pages in part 1 and some panels in part 2.
Part 3 is pretty much 1:1.
Part 4 is a mixed bag, a LOT of scenes were removed, but they added a ton of new ones back in.
I don't care if you choose to watch the show, but please go back to it to experience the missed things.
>that is exactly why.
Dio hated Jonathan (at first) and wanted to take what belonged to him, it had absolutely nothing to do with jealousy. It was greed and hatred but not jealousy. He quite clearly states he thinks he's above Jonathan and that he hates to even live with him, hence why it shook him so much to be bested by him.
>the born evil thing
The "born evil" is a plot thing that Araki uses to establish that Dio is not redeemable even with his shitty life.
It's not a magic retcon to his entire backstory or character.
>he wasn't like that in Part 3
He very much was like that, it's a change of perspective. Part 6 has us follow him through the eyes of Pucci, obviously he's going to come off as calmer and more philosophical than he did in Part 3 because that's literally how he talked to his followers.
Same character, different perspective.
But you said as much you aren't willing to listen so let's cut this right here then.
Are you referring to this ?
Parts 1 and 2 actually have a whole lot missing, especially 1. The childhood segment especially had so many things cut out that watching the anime is a very different experience.
Joseph and Caesar raiding a post office and even more Jonathan montaging doesn't change the experience. Part 4 cut from Superfly but other than that it only improved itself, especially the chapter rearrange for Cinderella and SHA/Quiet Life.
>Aku has more to him than just take over the world. Considering despite his serious generic tones, he's often a comedy character
And Dio doesn't ?
Dio is failry comedic himself, and there's other shit like the effect he has on other characters, charisma, design, and etc. No character is the sum of their goals.
Kind of hypocritical of you to shit on Dio by just brushing him off as a "take over the world" villain but then you praise Aku despite having literally the same goal just because he's funny.
That's the one, yeah.
Yes, which is when he comes to envy Jonathan. He had no reason to hate Jonathan though prior to that outside of him just being a dick.
>The "born evil" is a plot thing that Araki uses to establish that Dio is not redeemable even with his shitty life.
Which is one of those problems, Dio is just evil, Dio was going to be evil regardless of his father. That's just who he is and its dumb.
>He very much was like that, it's a change of perspective. Part 6 has us follow him through the eyes of Pucci, obviously he's going to come off as calmer and more philosophical than he did in Part 3 because that's literally how he talked to his followers.
I'll give you that point.
I'm don't like how they removed pic related. It was really cool to revisit part 1 and see how Dio's time stop was foreshadowed.
I have only read the manga for parts 5-8
Can someone give me a quick rundown on what the anime cuts out for any of the parts 1-4?
>backstory literally ripped off from Pulp Fiction
>had a power that allowed him to obtain infinite money by just going to other universes and taking jewelry from other races
>decided to go after the corpse anyway because "lol napkins"
>tried to rape Lucy
>for some reason became obsessed with her as the "goddess"
>tried to kill Johnny and killed Gyro with some random new power-up
>suddenly became a sympathetic character with a tragic backstory
>even almost talking Johnny into sparing him
>decided to shoot him for no reason
>died like a bitch
He's bland and boring. Valentine's character is all over the fucking place and his entire motivation is just boring and cliche as fuck. Not to say others in JoJo aren't the same way, but Valentine is just shitty and boring. He has no real reason for doing anything he does beyond being a patrior. He has no real reason to go that apeshit about the Corpse. He has no real reason for his insane power jumps.
Valentine is shit beyond his memes, deal with it.
See what I mean ?
>gets called out for dio
>goes after other villains
Just don't read the series if you don't like it, senpai
Jonathan smoking a pipe.
Joseph and Caesar bullying a clerk.
The senator riding over people in all its glory.
A few meme panels, but most notably there's some comedy removed from the dice game and Superfly ends earlier without the scene where Josuke is about to slip off the tower and punches himself back on.
Just keep in mind that it gets MUCH better after the first 8 episodes and it's an investment if you really want to get into it. The fanbase is fun as fuck, especially if you have friends that are into jojo. Have fun and don't question things too much
Oh lol, I'll take that flub, it was too convincing.
>Yes, which is when he comes to envy Jonathan.
Let's get this straight. It had nothing to do with envy.
Envy would have made him too sympathetic, and generic to boot.
>"boohoo i was poor and I envied the rich kid and now I'm mean and I'll take revenge on society"
No, fuck that shit. That's what Over Heaven wants you to believe.
>had no reason to hate Jonathan though prior to that outside of him just being a dick
Again: he wanted to take everything Jonathan had. He didn't really hate Jonathan when he was a kid, he was out to take him out of the picture because Jonathan was pathetic and spoiled. He was dead set on taking everything the Joestars had before he even arrived there.
Hate only really started to come up after Jonathan beat him, and after those 7 years he had to spent pretending to be good.
>Dio was going to be evil regardless of his father
Not entirely true.
Dio was evil in the same way that Jonathan was good. Both take heavily from their fathers. Dario and George are important. But he could have turned out differently (less evil) if he grew on different circumstances.
If you are interested, maybe you could read that Imgur analysis I linked above.
Maybe it could shed some new light on who Dio is besides the sum of his goals.
Here's most of the changes in part 4, it's going to be long list.
New scene in the beginning with a lady's hand. Ryohei is helping the old lady from the Rohan's Adventure chapter.
Silhouettes of some of the future characters hiding behind the crowd at the end of the episode.
Tomoko noticed Angelo was not the regular milkman before she opened the bottle instead of after.
Showed DIO and his stand in the anime.
Okuyasu punched Josuke a couple times after he revealed his stand power.
Josuke bandaged his arm before going back into the house after rescuing Okuyasu.
Keicho's flashback is a lot longer.
Okuyasu meeting Josuke for school is added at the end of the episode.
Tamami is already short in the anime.
A scene of Hazamad gouging the guy's eye out was added.
Echoes was added in the OP.
You can see an issue of Pink Dark Boy inside the locker.
Yukako made a cameo.
Josuke asking some highschool girls where the other him went was cut.
RHCP can be seen at end of the episode.
Not the guy you're discussing with but this whole exchange makes me really want an official, thorough character study by Araki himself. Just to see his complete thought process behind the character. He's so simple but so multi faceted, I'd love to read a full analysis. Maybe when the series ends he'll do one.
