They just grit it (mostly).
There's the permitted depth limit which is set by the government and the survivable depth limit which is caused by the Curse. The White Whistles is permitted to go as deep as they want, but they will suffer the Curse if they try to come back just like any other human.
The fourth layer's Curse is pretty bad but the White Whistles can take it, though of course they avoid to.

I compared these to the raw and noticed that the translation looks absolutely amazing. I'm sure that the translator knows exactly what he/she's doing. I only noticed an extremely minor issue that's not worth fixing but I'll just list it to prove that I read this.
